The Winter Classic has its spot since it's New Year's Day, has the 24/7 lead up etc but these are still fun for those in attendance.

Did anybody outside of Habs and Flames fans care about the Heritage Classic, doubt it but that doesn't change how much fun it was for those in attendance in Calgary.
I think a few more watch on tv and would prefer it to be an annual spectacle instead of the worn out theatrics it has become.

agreed, I honestly never gave a crap about any of the outdoor games until we hosted ours and haven't given any of them a second look, well until today. I was curious how it would go in the warm climate.

So I guess what I am saying is it doesn't matter to me if it's 1 game a year or 10, unless the Flames are in it I really don't care.

So you have 30 teams in the league, and players on those teams have an average 3-5 year career at best... and what do you want, only 2 of 30 each year to have the chance to have a career highlight outdoor game? For out of market fans, maybe it is overkill, but for in market fans and for the game, it is a bit more important. And how do you grow the game? By depriving new fans of a spectacular introduction to the sport? Gotta think bigger picture. It's not about your boredom .

Out of the older bands I've seen, I'd rate them like this on sound:

Mötley Crüe
Kiss
Styxx
Def Leppard
Megadeth
Helix

Kiss haters, I saw them in a 4500 seat arena two years ago and they sounded amazing. Not as good as the Crue, but still amazing. Paul Stanley can be annoying as hell but he can still sing

Milano yes There should be an Alyssa cam for the games she attends. She still looks better in a Devils jersey. Would Tom Petty, Madonna, or Prince be irrelevant?

That's Poison, they also sing "Ain't nothing but a good time." Great songs!

The Ducks-Kings game was terrific. I hope the Sharks do an outdoor game next season. Nice 36 save SHUTOUT by Hiller as the Ducks won 3-0. The Penguins had no offense at all and were beaten by the Stars 3-0. Lehtonen with the SHUTOUT as he faced just 24 shots and also got an assist. The Wild gave the Sharks a run for their money but the Sharkies win it in OT 3-2, Thornton with the GWG. Bummer for the BJs as they lost for the first time in 9 games, 5-2 against the Sabres. Bobrovsky didn't have his magic and was yanked after 3 goals on shots. It was Miller time again with 36 saves and his team helped by scoring a SHG. The Lightning lit up the Avs 5-2, Tyler Johnson gets a hattrick. The honeymoon continues for the Jets and Coach Maurice as the Jets win 5-4 over the Leafs. The Leafs defense is looking bad right now, 12 goals in 2 games. The Habs are sucking right now and the Price is wrong, Capitals win 5-0. Holtby with the 21 save SHUTOUT. The Bruins pounded the Flyers 6-1. Iggy with 4 points, 2G and 2A, Chara with 2G, and Krejci had 3A. Mason was pulled after 4 goals. The Islanders let a point slip away as the Blues won 4-3 in the SO. Oshie scored the GTG with 27 seconds left in reg time. The Senators looked off with the matinee start and the Hurricanes took advantage of it as they won 6-3. The 2nd period had 7 goals including a Sens SHG.

Just thought I'd throw in that I got to go to the Ducks - Kings game and the atmosphere was incredible! It's kind of a shame that they game was a pretty big snooze-fest after the first 5 minutes (and I hate the ducks so there's that).

If any of you guys get the chance to check out an outdoor game, definitely get in on that!
