So, are you saying that resorting to physical violence is a moral high road in your mind?
I'm not saying what Richards did was right, but we are missing what was said before the camera phone started rolling. It could very well be that Richards is entirely in the wrong.
However it is also possible that after listening to several racial slurs against him; he responded in kind. Now let's assume he isn't a racist. If he isn't a racist, perhaps his vocabulaty of racial slurs isn't what it could be. Immediately off the top of my head I cannot think of another slur for black people other than the "N" word. And I had no idea what "wetback" meant before this thread either.
I just haven't made up my mind either way. I want to see all the facts before I jump to a conclusion. And the first facts; the video, shows two him and two black guys hurling slurs at each other. What is missing is what provoked it.

Well it seems he wasnt provoked by racial remarks, or even provoked much at all.

Regardless, I think there has to be more to it than that for a guy to go that far...

So you want to ignore facts and rely on hearsay?

Well if you read the info from the link provided by Dion it sounds as though he was barely provoked at all.
And no violence is certain not my idea of a moral high road, but I will admit it is something I may do in the heat of the moment if I was provoked enough. I still think resorting to violence is not as bad as discriminating against someone verbally based on their race, religion or gender, buts thats my oppinion.

Yep...god knows "Kramer" could never be a racist, he MUST have been provoked, even if all published reports say he wasnt.

Finally got a chance to watch the clip.
Pretty brutal stuff. I wasn't expecting it to be that blunt, especially with all the apologists in these threads.
But I guess I should be used to that.
The guy yelling back racist slurs was really dumb too. It looked good on them when they were saying "That's uncalled for". Seemed like they were taking the high road, but then they retaliated for some verbal puke of their own.

What?? Where is the double standard? Please explain that for us?
And I dont think anyone here is saying the audience member was justified in what he said either...where is your point here because I fail to see one?

You want a source? From my post #158:
"My understanding is that there was a group of people that were excited Michael Richards had come on stage, and were talking about how great he was as Kramer," explained Laugh Factory's Director of Public Relations and Marketing, Jackie Plaza. "Mr. Richards misinterpreted what they said as heckling, and went off on a racial tirade."

I haven't read any cracker ass comments during my net search. Do you have a source for that one?

Works for me, I didn't read the whole thread.
Chalk it up to making the biggest mistake of his life...
I'm not going to boycott him, or dislike him people can go to extreme's quite easily, just like the guy's who were targetted by him on the way out. Who seemed to threaten his life and return racial slurs.
