Sutter needs to go back to the farm. It’s not working and, as much as we might want to, it will be tough to rebuild at this point. We can move some guys like TT but moving young guys like Hanifin, Andersson, Vladar isn’t rebuilding…it’s keeping the old junk and trading core young guys for a few lottery tickets. We need to get the most out of what we have now and Sutter isn’t doing it. We need to find a Huberdeau whisperer.

We should absolutely be trading those players instead of signing them to long term contracts into their mid 30s.

Yeah, we’re actually well positioned to trade pieces off and get good returns.
1. Lindholm - big value
2. Hanifin - big value
3. Toffoli - probably worth a 2nd
4. Lucic - probably worth a depth pick
5. Tanev - big value
6. Zadorov - probably worth a 2nd
Those are good pieces to kick off a rebuild with.
From the 6 above, you could likely extract three 1st round picks, some prospects, and a 2nd (or two) alongside a depth pick. That’s a good spot to start

Fire Sutter. And this team will look much different next year (with same players).
Sutter kills creativity.
Sutter kills creativity because our top guys are turn over merchants. Sutter knows what he has since we lost Mathew Jonny who were our best players we don't have that 1-2 punch anymore. That's why we are a bubble team we lost our snipers and it's not Sutter thats the problem its the players we don't have a great history of drafting studs or getting great ufa bottom barrel
I’m kind of glad Treliving’s contract is expiring. I think he and the Flames both need fresh starts away from each other. The Flames need new leadership with new perspective of the roster and talent pool as the team is stale and not as good as management thinks it is.
While I think Brad is a smart man, I think he has continually mis-judged where this team is at and what was needed
He saw what he wanted to, but not the reality of the situation
Also need someone wiling to resist some of the input from ownership (the "just get in" mandate to be big spenders at every deadline for years) in favour of developing a strong foundation of youth and talent

Team is a mess. Tough to watch and I agree with the zero creativity. Time to do the right thing and just start over (yet that will be difficult with contracts like Huberdeau). Also, if they decide to actually rebuild (which I don’t see happening) got to think Darryl won’t be a part of it. Makes things challenging on that front to as he just signed an extension.
Team is directionless. Lame duck GM without a contract next year, coach who won’t want a rebuild and players with contracts impossible to move. The life of a Flames fan I guess.
Ouch Dino’s optimism is down to: lots of teams suck in the west and somebody has to get in, why not us?
He makes a fair point, but we must be at an all time low when even Dino isn't saying the team is good.
Don't think I've ever seen that before in any season.

This team is not making the playoffs. There’s something fundamentally wrong with it.
Reshuffle in the offseason and try again next year. Still have some good pieces. They just don’t work well together.
I think Treliving is a good at assessing present and past play. Can’t manage or predict future play. And that will not be exclusively his fault, but that’s why at the time all his deals make sense but as time goes on they almost never work. Gotta be a bit of a fortune teller in this industry.
Flames are not making the playoffs and need to try and collect picks now. Face reality time.
And wow, that Huberdeau contract could be in contention as the worst of the decade. Yikes. Dude is the Russell Wilson of the NHL. He honestly could be benched, and we wouldn’t skip a beat. He actually should sit for a couple games and pull his head out of his ass.
