I legitimately think lucic should get sent to stockton.

He's a poor player and refuses to play his one role on the team.

At least rinaldo would have fought for his teammates.

For me it just shows a total lack of professionalism refusing to compete and battle with guys because you are friends with off the ice.

Let him ride the bus and fly coach for 4 years and see if he wants to work hard for his money. Oilers are eating part of the cap hit, you can bury 1.1 mil. Would leave the flames with a 4 mil cap hit which is a lot better than Neal would have been. And you get a 3rd.

Also, souring on ward too after those comments. Obviously no one expects you to rip the guy apart Geoff but just refusing to comment completely because of your "boston" relationship is passing the buck.

haven't read the whole post game thread yet and I have to imagine most my points have been brought up by this point but that is the worst i've seen us look in the defensive zone in years. Possibly 5+ years. We could not break out, clear the zone or outwork an oiler to save our lives tonight in the defensive zone it was pathetic.

Thought the Mang-Lind-Tka line was the only line that was consistent throughout the hockey game but once Tkachuk started taking majors we lost the only thing offensively we consistently had going for us.

Sad game . Embarrassing losing to a garbage franchise like that 8-3 but hopefully the boys take this as a lesson learned.

Calmed down enough to jump in:
1. It's one game--season series still tilted our way.
2. Get Gallant--He wouldn't let some guys avoid the conflict like they did tonight.
3. Lucic--I remember when Edmonton went back to L.A. the first year he was with the Coilers--the Kings were cheap shotting McLottery and the rest all night and laughing at them the whole time and Lucic did nothing until finally he found a small guy who wasn't on L.A. the year before so he wasn't his pal--and sort of fought him.

He won't be much good to us against our most hated rival--which are usually our most physical games, so if we did happen to meet them in the playoffs, I'd bench him.

4. I wish early 80s Peplinski was available for one night just to pound some Oilers--bring along Willi Plett, Charlie Bourgeois, and maybe Tim Hunter and Randy Holt as well. (Was it just me, or did it seem in the After Hours bit that Peplinski kept his back sort of turned to DeBrusk and didn't really look at him?)

I think a lot of people haven’t wrapped their heads around the league is different now. It’s not about catching lighting in a bottle from 8th place. In 04 when the Flames finished in 6th, there were huge differences in them and the better teams. That was a true miracle run. In today’s NHL, legit good teams miss the playoffs.

This team needs some changes, I don’t disagree. But we are in the second year in my opinion of this groups window. And we tare it apart because the won the West last year, but lost first round, and currently sit in a playoff spot? That’s a stupidly short leash sparked by emotion. Last year and this year has given us indications of what we should be trying to change (and the GM clearly saw the same thing given the trade he tried to pull off) but to suggest we are in burn it territory is just emotional garbage.

Gosh you're setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment . You don't have to burn it down, but you sure need some major retooling, and that's going to mean a different looking team (hopefully) next year. And I've been saying it since some Elite coaches have become available, Geoff Ward on no planet is equivalent to what is now, very fortunately available. #### needs to get done

They would be wise to, If they want it to end on a remotely positive note. I dont see the inconsistency leveling out on its own under a rookie coach, nor the team recapturing its offensive flair.

A minus 17 goal differential and 15 regulation wins in 53 games played, the Colorado series, the fact that we are 11 points down on the same point last season despite getting 6 points from shootout wins this season tells us all, this is more than about “one game”.

That POS Gagner should get 2 games for spearing, which caused that whole fracas. Rittich should be embarrassed about his whole game but giving up a clean shot to Gagner for the 7th was the worst of it.

Agreed about Gagner. Washed up goof needs a tuning up- he is running around too much. Gio maybe ? Don’t need a heavyweight or middleweight to handle him.

Nobody on the oil may want to go with Lucic. Fine. He shouldn’t give them a choice when it is 7-3 late in a game. See zadorov and Sherwood attacks by Lucic. Just go after Kassian, Nurse or P. Russell and destroy them. Suspension for two games? Who cares- that is why we got him.
