Agreed, I don't care how absurd it sounds, shake up the lines. We have like two 5 on 5 goals this series, there's a reason for that. Even if you have to shelter your top line I don't care
Mangiapane-Ryan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Bennett-Czarnik
Frolik-Backlund-Monahan

As for Point, maybe he wants too much money. Tampa is struggling with cap and maybe it's a deal where Monahan's contract is the difference.

$10M to a guy that will be 29 very early in his first season of the new deal. This is a player who has had 3 seasons where he has missed at least 30 games and has been part of 2 of the biggest losing organizations of the last several years.
Hall for Gaudreau straight up is a flat out terrible trade unless you want the first overall pick because Hall brings that lotto luck with him

Flames can win with Johnny. However, he needs to learn to toughen up and stop that babyish BS that he's doing on the ice every time someone gives him a slash. I'm sure Fleury, Mullen, and Kane got their fair share of slashes and they just continued to battle through adversity and become part of championship teams.
I can say that Johnny can't do it alone since his handicap at the moment is his size and his fear of going into the corner to get hit. If he ever overcomes that and if the Flames actually get some better reinforcements on his line that can score and hit, he'll be just as good as any elite players who have won it all. Let's see if he's still a big suck in Game 5 and possibly the end of the cup run this year.

Hall would 100% sign here if we are still planning on beating Edmonton each year. I like it.

He played well one year. He also has a history of quitting when his team is struggling and injury concerns too. He has oodles of talent but his hockey IQ is not great. Big pass on Hall.

I like the idea of Hall being on Calgary, because he's fast, and I think that would add a new dynamic to the Flames' top end.
He's also pretty consistent, from a year to year basis, when healthy.
However, I would rather the Flames address the top 6 void this year rather than next year. I'd also prefer them to get a center rather than a winger.

That would be great if Hall was wanting to sign here, but I am curious. What makes you think he would choose Calgary over any of his other options once he is a UFA? As I have always stated, Calgary is not one of the more desirable places to play, as usually the org/city is on most NTC lists, hence in the lower tier for the high end UFAs.
Has he ever stated a desire to play for the Flames? If so, then its possible for him to choose the Flames. I ask, since he moved to Ontario at 13, as well as played all his junior out east. Was just curious if he has ever shown such an interest or stated something of similar ilk. Just as Johnny has with playing out in the east.

Yes, apparently he was and has pics out there as a kid with a Flames jersey. However that is a long time ago. I was just curious if anyone has ever heard him say anything remotely close to wanting to play in Calgary. Just as Johnny has stated he would love to play out east at some point in his career.
I have contacts/friends who play in the league and were Flames fans growing up, but I know if given a chance as UFA, would rather play in a bigger centre/diff market for many reasons. Even prairie boys who would not choose places like Calgary/ott/Wpg/Edmonton/Buffalo, etc if given the choice. Especially the single/non married ones with no direct personal/wife connection to the city anymore.

I love Johnny. I love his soft, 'un-American speaking voice.' Johnny came into a world of Canadians and Swedes as a Yank. He took a lot of sh*t from the dressing room, but he continued to be his soft spoken, polite self through 2018. He won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 2016-2017, which emulates the most 'gentlemanly' player in the NHL. He started the Purple Gatorade stunt, and we all loved him for it. Johnny Gaudreau and 'Hart Trophy' were mentioned in threads on CP every day until the All Star Break. We have called him a 'wizard,' and a 'magician.' We have 'ooooed and awwwwd' over the kid all season long, commenting on how friggen great it is to be a Flames fan with him on our team.
Granted, something in him changed after the All Star break, and we can all sit and try to figure out why, but, the facts are- this kid has been effing amazing, leading Calgary in points, representing the team in the All Star game, and producing a career high 99 points this season. And- someone made a thread, today, suggesting Calgary should trade him for someone different.. because 'what have you done for me lately' and 'instant gratification' are obviously more important than supporting the best player on your team. And others were happy to jump in and play couch-coach, constructing alternate teams and lines in your head. The Flames still have games to play, and some of y'all have written off Johnny for whatever your behind-the-curtain dream team you currently have in mind (for today) is.
Shame on you.

Why would anyone want to sign here and put up with this? Hall has already played for a fan base that blamed everything on him.

Why does everyone automatically go to Johnny and give him all the blame?
Hes not a #1 overall pick, hes not McKinnon, or ,McDavid, or Matthew's.
It's easy to stop the first line.
..focus on JG because the other two ain't doin Jack ####.
Bennett has more ability to create and drive the play than Mony. Mony can finish.

Put up with what?
A frustrated fan base venting on a message board? Pretty sure they aren't reading and you'd get this with every fan base.

Canadian market is much harsher on players...talk around town right now is all Gaudreau/Mony...losers, wimps ect.
You think the average Joe in SJ even cares? How many big name high end free agents have actually signed in places like Calgary or Edmonton. Average players will come if you over pay.

I don't know the reasons, but my guess would be that Monahan is playing with an injury.
They are professionals and get paid well to be top line players so they should never let personal stuff get in the way of their play. They also owe their effort to their team mates who they go to war with all season. Guys like Gio are getting older so this would be another missed opportunity. I just don't see Johnny and Monahan letting personal stuff get in the way of such an important opportunity.
Personally I think the issue with the Flames is coaching, the current coaching staff is either being out coached, or doesn't know how to get more out of the players. The result... a poor all round effort, especially when we have the lead.

Who cares where he was drafted? Means nothing. Johnny is getting blame because he's the best player on the team. That's where it usually falls.
