Ihave never seen ownership to be against a rebuild.
I have seen ownership against a scorched earth NYI or Columbus style rebuild.
Look at the turnover in the roster from two years ago, onand off the ice, and tell me we are not rebuilding.

Congrats! You go to the front of the line for best or biggest over reactor! Given your "I've only been wrong twice in my life" speech this week you may like the attention this new title brings!
It's a fourth line guy that the Flames got for Mickelson, I think the franchise will survive.

Comeau, Jones, Begin, Jackman, Irving and MacDonald are all players that not more than 2 or 3 teams in the league would even want on their roster. I'll root for all of them while they're on the Flames, but I'm not going to freak out if any of them are sent to Abbotsford, waived or traded for a bag of pucks. It's really not worth getting upset because you think any one of them is slightly less bad than any other one of them.

We are not rebuilding.
The team is still structured around guys who are for the most part 28+.
The number of guys who play a meaningful role on this team that are 25 and under is 1, maybe 2 depending on what you feel about Backlund.
The number of NHL capable guys 25 and under is maybe 3-4.
This team is bringing in new guys but not as a rebuild as a way to try and get to 8th spot as they say.
Bringing in Hudler, Cerevneka and Wideman is definitely not rebuilding it is shuffling the deck chairs around.

Basically we're doing what every team does, cycling in new players and a couple younger players and telling ourselves it's rebuilding.

I can't decide if I'm more bothered about the fact that Jones was waived, that Comeau will be centering an already struggling Iginla in a key game, or that shuffling should-be-4th line players and should-be-backup goaltenders are significant moves for this team.

I'm actually not really overreacting to the Jones waiving as much as Comeau centering Iginla and Glencross. Jones is a 4th line guy but at least he's a center that can win faceoffs so it simply doesn't make sense to waive him and use his linemate as a center........on the top line!
This IMO is a slap in the face to Iginla. How is he supposed to break out of his slump with a 4th line winger centering him? Rather than take shots at me why don't you actually explain the brilliance of this move that the rest of us are obviously missing? You can't tell me that Iginla isn't sitting at the dinner table with his wife shaking his head wondering what the hell is going on with this team. It's a joke.

Just because a move isn't the end of the world doesn't make it brilliant either. Bingo's pointing out of your overreaction doesn't require that he have a polar opposite viewpoint.
And of course he can tell you that Iginla isn't stitting at the dinner table with his wife shaking his head wondering what the hell is going on with this team. It's not even close to dinner time.

He and you can say I'm overreacting but that doesn't mean it's fact. What's going on is simply stupid and I'm not the only person that feels this way. I'm sure that there may be a perfectly good reason that we don't know to why Jones was placed on waivers. However the infatuation this team has with Comeau has to end.
Oh and that dinner time line was really lame.

I can't argue with that assessment at all.

Comeau is now a center. I know I'm a broken record but a lot of the issues this team has follow from the fact that Feaster came up with a team with no centers. They have offensive skill but no backbone in the lineup.

I can imagine the conversation..."Hey Iggy, we know as an organization we've failed to get you an elite centre for the entire duration of your career...Here you go, you now get to play with Blake Comeau."
Iginla is not going to be a Calgary Flame after this season and will move on to greener pastures and flourish. I am personally excited for him.

Someone needs to chart all the moves Feaster and Sutter have made since the Phaneuf deal. I would wager the large majority of them were completely nonsensical or out of left field.
Nothing makes sense with the Flames anymore. I really think there are a couple members on CP that could be better managers than Feaster or Sutter in his last couple years.
While Feaster has done a decent enough job in drafting and signing UFA's, most of his smaller moves (or lack there of) have been absolutely awful.
Didn't we suffer enough when Craig Button was here?

I hope Iginla gets traded to the Penquins, not too long from now.
He'll win one or two cups and probably have a surprising 35 goal season along the way.

2 natural LW's playing center in the top 9. LOL
Iggy this week has taken hits from the media and from CP , but this has to be the biggest slap in the face.
Question for Cp:
Did Comeau get bumped up to #1 line or did Iggy and Glencross get bumped down to #3 line? What a joke.

You don't think he would have a 40 goal season in him playing a full schedule with Crosby? He would probably be open a lot more for those one timers from the circle given the attention Crosby commands. The potential on the powerplay with Malkin, Crosby, and Iginla at least on the surface looks crazy good. I could see one more 80 point season if everything went well with health.
