I've received this message twice so far today from people I previously believed to be intelligent, sensible internet citizens.

Spare everyone you know the trouble and don't pass it on. Please. I beg of you.

Also, it's generally not a good idea to add people you don't know. Just sayin'.

So don't tell other people? Or do? I'm confused. Why wouldn't I spread this message to people who might get added by this email address?

Don't pass it on. I would put it in the same category as all those emails you get warning about Mr. Clean Magik Eraser and other such products and how bad they are for you. None of it is substantiated and it only serves to annoy people by filling their inbox with junk.

If you get anything, especially forwards, take a moment to think about what you received before blindly firing it off to all your friends and family.

seriously?

maybe i dont know enough about computers, but it doesnt make sense that having access to your facebook page opens up some "secret tunnel" port to your computer.

maybe i am naive, but i never believe these "warnings". just use common sense.

I don't know much about hacking/viruses/whatever, but does adding someone to your Facebook account give them much of a window into your computer? My uneducated guess would be that adding someone to your Facebook account doesn't give them anything a hacker wouldn't already have access to. Not to mention that the varying of security from computer to computer would play a much larger role. I'm always pretty skeptical when it comes to the validity of these warning's.

Dear lord... I have to live with these "warning" messages on my wall, in my e-mail, and now on CP. Will it ever end?

See? You guys get the idea! Think about it: doesn't make sense, does it? Spare everyone the trouble and inbox clutter. Thank you.

Mine isn't a warning so much as a plea to NOT pass it along. But yeah, I guess I kind of perpetuated the dumb message...

For every person that you forward this too, Bill Gates sends you a check for a $1000.

Sorry, I read only your quote and not the rest of your message, don't know why. In that case, I whole heartily agree!
