I was wondering if anyone here participates in Geocache and if there are any good hunts in your neck of the woods?

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Looks interesting. Reminds me of The Confluence project.

Just bought a Toyota and ended up with a new IQ 3600 GPS which I am currently learning to use. I am unfamiliar with the term, geocaching, however after looking it up in the net, it sounds like an enjoyable thing to do. I'll have to look into it further. Thanks for mentioning it, Lanny.

I've done it a few times, never got into it with my busy schedule at the time. I enjoyed it, it's fairly nerdy to do , but if you have a family/kids, then it's a good activity.

I did it with the regular Garmin Etrex and had no problems. I like using the simpler model since it makes it more of a challenge. I basically use it to get into the right area and then search on foot for it.

I saw a segment on Geo-caching on The Hour on newsworld last week... sounds like fun, if only I could get enough money for a receiver.. Of course I'm used to using hightech, highly accurate GPS equipment that has centemeter level accuracy.. I spent a year working on it!

Well looks like I've been hiding under a rock. I've had a GPS for years and had no idea what Geocaching was until noticing this post. God bless Calgarypuck again!

There are tons of hunts in the Red Deer area too. Looks like a fun thing to do with the kids.

Sorry to bump this thread again, as it seems not that popular but I've done some Geocaching in the last few days and had a blast doing so. Found 5 caches in the last few days. It's really good fun and a good deviation from work when I'm driving around Central Alberta!

Thx to Lanny for originally posting this and ricosauve for bumping the thread. This is a hobby I'm really going to get in to with the family.
