Human Embryonic Stem Cells Can Improve Heart Function In Rats
http://www.newslocale.org/health/hne...070827423.html
Quote:
In what can be a major breakthrough, scientists have managed to implant human embryonic stem cell grafts into damaged hearts of laboratory mice and heal them. This finding, if confirmed in humans, means stem cells can repair the damaged heart muscle and also halt heart failure in its tracks.

Fascinating stuff. Hopefully this is a sign of more positive things to come.

Not a huge shock. Maybe this will be a step in loosening up those research restrictions.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

What does that have to do with anything? There isn't a politican alive that supports every position you or I personally believe in. Does that mean we should ignore the majority of their platform because they disagree with our views on one issue? I think we should focus on the guys that have their head screwed on straight for the majority of the issues, and not cherry pick the ones that meet our own personal interests. Paul has voted against the bills, but he has not voted for a complete stop to stem cell research either. Paul believes government should not be involved in certain aspects of our lives, and medical research is one of them. That is the reason for his voting against any bill that sees government dollars going to pay for research that a business would normally pay for and benefit from in the long run.

You were trumpeting your support of Ron Paul a few days ago. That was why I brought it up.
And it isn't meant to be a slam at you specifically. More at the internet groundswell that seems to be viewing Ron Paul as the great hope for the future.
The "cherry picking of personal interests" opinion is a bit strange. I agree that voting for a candidate because of a single issue can be a disaster, but everyone has different priorities, and just because this isn't a priority for you doesn't make it pet topic for someone else.
As for the money aspect, he has voted against bills on Stem cells whether there was any federal money involved or not.
I respect many of Ron Paul's views, and find his opinions refreshing. Too bad there aren't more candidates like him.

Does that mean rat embryonic stem cells will prove to help human hearts?
