The separatists are out in full force around Nosehill Park today. At least from the 14th St side. Setup in all of the parking lots with flags all over. Kind of what you’d expect. Lonely old guys.
They are all over the south end of the city. I booed a table of them out my car window yesterday in Shawnessy. Then a block away there was another group that had some people gathered to hear their rhetoric. I remained quiet as there were many big boys at that one lol.

Yup, we went for a walk and had to pass by those losers. What a waste of a Sunday.

Sometimes feel like trolling them and taking a way far right stance and try to out crazy them. “why aren’t you church you heathen sinners?!”. “We should separate from the planet! why aren’t you half-assing it with just the country, you lazy bastards!”

I've been flying the Canadian car flag for several weekends now. Today I honked a few tables and flipped them the bird. One guy was really pissed off, LOL.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
I saw this one...
"Let’s be honest, there’s really only one question that needs to be asked about Premier Smith receiving the exorbitant gift of a very expensive gold cat from a Saudi Prince
Would the book 'The Premier Gets a P###y From a Prince' be banned in Alberta schools?""
Oh, I'm sure they've met the minimum threshold. Question is... can they beat the 435,000 Forever Canadian got? Or their much-boasted target of one million?
It's possible, but I'm not so sure about that. I think the majority of the hardcore separatists who are dead set on leaving rushed out during those first two weeks to sign it. But since then all I've been hearing from friends & family in Calgary, as well as here on CP is that every time they walk or drive by these idiots, there's hardly anyone there. Just a bunch of old white dudes sitting around in lawn chairs. They still have another month, so I guess we'll find out soon enough. But I'm not yet convinced that they'll hit the threshold.

An estimated 10 per cent of Canadians listen to Rogan (it's by far the most popular podcast in Canada). And if look at the demographics, most of Poilievre's supporters and voters he's trying to appeal to follow Rogan. No need to assume U.S.-based motivation for Poilievre's appearance when the show has that kind of reach in Canada.
What is the source for 10% of Canadians? Not saying its not true, just seems like a wildly high number considering how many people listen to podcasts in general.

I've seen several of these tables out overall, and have literally never seen anyone signing. I know of one person who said he would sign, and there is one other person I know who I think would sign. So, anecdotally, I don't see this as a good sign for that campaign. I guess I don't run in the circles where you would expect to see a lot of people signing, but to actually get to independence or get to a million signatures you need some groundswell of support.
I still think people are under estimating how big of a number 177,000 would be
By most measures there are ~2,500,000 Albertans who strongly support Forever Canada, and they reached 20% of those people.
If the freedumb movement reaches the same level of outreach with their strong support that would be about 80,000
I think there are factors that affect both campaigns favorably and negatively.
I think Forever Canada benefits from good weather, they benefited from a more organized effort, it was easy to find out where they would be, and they were at the same place, same time week after week. They benefit from having to hit a relatively low number of their overall support base to reach their goal, in densely populated areas.
Freedumb for the stupid, is benefitting from a friendlier set of rules, they benefit from having individuals who are more energetic, A willingness to skirt the rules, the media attention that comes with being a loud train wreck that people want to stare at.
I really think if they do have much more than 80,000 signatures, it is very likely an audit could find problems like rampant duplication of signatures... Although I'd be surprised if we don't see things just rammed through without a high quality audit. I'm interested to see if I will be proven wrong.

To be fair, the Forever Canadian people this far into the process also were just sitting around mostly dead at their signing table. And there seemed to be less locations than the current one, so now the demand would be more spread out.
I hope I'm wrong, but if the last 8 years as taught me anything, don't underestimate or downplay the ability for them to get what's required.
