love the early round taking care of business style dismissal. This is an essential part of joining the elite ranks, being fresh for week 2 of a tourney.

Yup, also the rain came back about 20 minutes or so after Vicky wrapped up proceedings, you don't want to make a long day on court even longer.

Gabriel advances 6-2 7-6 over Yibing Wu but there was a scare in the 2nd set tie-break as he tried to change direction quickly and let out a loud painful scream. Fortunately, he was able to continue and finish the match and looked pretty much okay.

The match in IW between Fonseca and Sinner was certainly higher quality than this one between Fonseca and Charlie.

Several seeds on the men's side went down today including De Minaur, Bublik, Ruud, Cobolli, and Draper.

aside from having to worry about drops and spin changes, Joao was way more rushed at the baseline compared to last week. He had to forehand slice a bunch of times which meant Carlos could come in for the kill. He needs to shorten his forehand prep time like Carlos did over the past year.

Leylah just now won a tough three setter over Oksana Selekhmeteva - That's the good news. The bad news is she gets Jessica Pegula next and will need to play much better than she did today to advance at the Miami Open.

Vicky wins in straight sets 6-1 7-5 over Anastasia Zakharova and that result sets up above Mboko - Andreeva clash.

Gabe loses to Ugo Humbert in straight sets, just not a good day at the office for the Canadian. Have to wonder if that scare he had yesterday affected him on court today, I didn't see any wrap or KT tape on his leg.

No surprise, Jessica Pegula made that look pretty easy 6-2 6-2 over Leylah. In my opinion, Leylah needs a total overhaul of her game, you can't camp on the baseline anymore because players hit the ball too hard and you take too much time away from yourself. If anything, Leylah needs to play the way Jessica Pegula plays tennis, not the biggest serve, but precise serving. Not the biggest groundstrokes, but putting the ball in difficult positions for the opponent to handle.

This Charlie - Korda match has had so many twists and turns - Charlie was down and looking to be going out, then looked like he was in control, now we're back to Sebastian serving for the match for the 2nd time today.

Korda gets it done on his 2nd opportunity, that's good from a mental health perspective. Charlie needs to get back on the dirt to reset.

Teen dream team (Andreeva / Mboko) wins again taking out the #4 seeds in straight sets. Gaby and Luisa also won their doubles match. Leylah and Venus play later today.
