Where can one recycle old car parts? Brake rotors, shocks etc.
I don't care about getting paid, just don't want to pay to get rid of them.

A few options. You can also leave it in the alley with a "free metal" sign, scrappers often drive around looking for that. I did that a few times and it disappeared in a day.

Selling my Acura RSX. Kelly's Blue Book says that trade in at a dealer would be 2100, similar cars I see online sales in Alberta or neighboring about 4800. Don't want to give it away, but also don't want to burn the buyer at all, as it's someone I've known for a while.

For those that buy and sell more frequently, 3500 seem reasonable? Mechanically sound, some rust around the wheelwells, and some minor personality issues.

Never bought there...but anecdotally, they are one of the better used car places around...

Check the Calgary sub reddit...I think there is a thread on there.

I brought my old rotors and stuff to the recyclers on Ogden road.

Calgary Metal recycling.

They weight in / out and you have the option to donate the proceeds to a charity...

I just dumped and ran...not sure where the dollar value went.

Were they paying money for basic steal? All the places I've gone have a free bin for that stuff, and you only get money if it's stainless, aluminum, copper etc...

So pass on your responsibilities to other taxpayers and low wage workers sorting through your trash? Why not dump your half full paint cans in there too? Some old gas? Maybe your propane cylinders too.

Never understood people who think like this.

Sorry, I meant the recycling bins in Canmore. That's where I take my stuff since they want to tax me a lot I like getting my money's worth.

Strathmore has a cool place where you get rid of old stuff like tires, furniture and whatever. The Hutterites camp out there and grab and fix things and (I would assume) re-sell it.

I've got the same question, but for a dead starter siting on my workbench. Does anyone buy back starter cores if you didn't buy the starter from them?

I had 6 rotors from my vehicles and misc scrap. Was a few years ago but I do recall the guy asking if I wanted to get paid or just donate to a charity...

I just dumped and left...

You planning on putting through a lowball offer for something that hasn't moved in a while?
