When they're not LAcKing, they're either faKing or just downright sucKing.

I wonder what mental health professional would recommend sending a player down to the minors for “conditioning”. I could see it after a player takes a complete leave of absence for mental health and is ready to play again. But not all by itself.

Won the battle, lost the war?

"Costly two points as Edmonton Oilers win the game, but lose Draisaitl"

I don't think he will be gone for long. Their medical staff cleared him to return in the first, but Draisaitl pulled himself as it didn't feel right.

This is the Oilers medical staff we are talking about. His leg could have been half-severed off and they probably would have cleared him to return.

Fair enough. His agent probably saw him return to the game and got on the horn to pull him.

Phrasing?

There’s my learning for the day…not the information (but yes), it’s trusting an article from the Edmonton Journal.

I note that the player must agree, and the Oilers couldn’t afford Pickard with Jarry remaining on the cap.

It’s the same reason why they can’t recall Pickard for 3 goalies.

Yah, send Jarry down and recall Pickard and begin their 4 games losing streak.

Uh oh, apparently Draisaitl didn’t practice today and Knoblauch is expecting to be without him for “some time”. Not ideal in the midst of a battle for the playoffs!

Saw a rumor that the Oilers waived Jarry... any truth to this?

I finally saw the video of Pissy's injury and of course he's committing a McTantrum Special (grabbing a stick) just before it happens.

Calgary secret agent Wiesblatt put him out.

It's the same division where, only a year ago, the fourth-place team missed the playoffs with 96 points. These things can change fast – in both directions.

It’ll be interesting to see how the harlem globetrotters of the NHL do without one of their dynamic duo. Wonder who will help pick up his 45 minutes of ice time per game.
