I'm probably dead wrong, but acquiring this many picks feels to me like the Flames are hellbent on trading into a top draft position to pick a player they have already identified and highly covet, as a plan B should they lose the lottery. Should be interesting to see how things play out.

If this is what Conroy has been pulling the trigger on the offers for Kadri or Coleman have not been that great.

He is legit. Impact 2-way player who will be a good pro with a long pro career. Not sure I'd say sure-fire NHLer though.

It's certainly not like Conroy is going to have anything else to occupy his time for the next two days.

That Rangers 2nd will be about 34th or 35th overall.

Dont hate a center prospect where the report says hes good at faceoffs. Seems like a Wiebe level prospect.

Not a bad trade, it's crazy what some people expected for weegar. Especially since weegar hasn't even had a good year.

Three second round picks all over the round is a pretty outstanding return for a #4 dman having maybe his worst career year in his thirties. Also slots Parekh in on PP1 for the remainder of the season. The complaining on here is par for the course but entirely unwarranted. Whomever said they’d rather have 1 first vs 3 seconds…..oof. If it helps, number the picks in your mind instead of calling them the round they’re in. It could 38, 48 and 50 vs 18. Love it.

I don't hate it. I'll give the kid a chance.

Jonathan Castagna is constantly moving his feet, shifting laterally, sprinting through his lanes, and causing havoc. Castagna's hands, able to keep up with his skating, are among the standout tools in his arsenal. Inside-outside handles and targeting the backs and triangles of defenders make the Toronto-born forward a constant threat to destroy a gap and pivot a defender. -EliteProspects 2023 NHL Draft Guide

6 ft 2 205 pound centre. Another bullet in the center chamber.
