I don't see it.

If Helenius really works out, yeah. Right now I think it’s a really good trade. Power is a big body but he is fairly underwhelming for his draft rank. I don’t see him really being a franchise d man for a team, more like a good #2-3. Quinn is a second line guy who can score (wicked shot). Thomas is a 26 year old top line centre making the same as Power…. This isn’t that insane to me.

It hasn’t happened yet. So this could be an exaggeration. But would be interesting to see a big move.

How so? St. Louis would be worse right now (not for the future).

Calgary would have to give up Parekh, Coronato and a first to roughly equal the Helenius/Quinn/Power package.

Rob Thomas? The lead singer of Matchbox 20? He must be in his 50s!

I wonder how many Artists are the lead singer of a band, but then have their biggest hit and end up being known more for a random guest performance on somebody else's song.

Smooth is an interesting one because it works both ways.
- It is probably the song Robert Thomas is best known for.
- But for Santana it is probably the song HE is best known for, and exposed him to an entirely new generation.

LeBrun says the asking price for the Habs was Hage, Reinbacher, ++

That is why they are out.

I could see Buffalo going with Helenius, 1st, Prospect. Thomas has a slow foot speed, hes not getting equivelent of 4 firsts. There is a reason no one was talking about how he got snubbed from Team Canada.

Anybody being traded to the Sabres should be very pleased. They're kicking ass right now.

That's nuts. That would be a much better package than Buffalo is giving. I think Buffalo is overpaying slightly, comparative to recent deals where nobody's dealing the equivalent of 4 firsts. Robert Thomas genuinely seems like the sudden flavour of the month for this year. Every year there are guys like this who suddenly get a frenzy created for where they're pretty okay, but not superstars. I think he's reached his full potential. Fair for Buffalo to swing here but if I'm them I withhold that 1st rounder if you're giving up that package.

The UFA class this year is not great.

It is absolutely a buyer's market.

Wouldn’t that make it a sellers market…? Since there’s less options for buyers this summer

Yeah, but then you'd have to live in Buffalo.

How is that better than Buffalo

Helenius is equal at worst, and maybe even better than Hage.

Power is easily better than Reinbacher.
