Wolf, Kadri, and Zary were the stars but I thought it was a solid team effort. Backlund and Farabee also had good games and made some plays.

Loved seeing Coronato out killing the 6 on 5 at the end. I like how Huska is bringing the young players along and putting them in different situations.

Sharangovich remains our most frustrating player this season. He disappears for long stretches at a time.

Feels like we haven’t seen him in weeks

But I'll be patient.. for now.

I’d like to hear what Huska’s Alley is? What coach or team employs what you are looking for?

I am genuinely curious about this Huska narrative that is floating around.

He was on the power plays and against the 4th line of SJ. They shut him down after the last healthy run Reeves took. Reeves was trying to run him all night. I know I said 4 or 5 healthy runs but he tried to get him at least a dozen times. I say healthy meaning he was trying to put him through the boards. Most likely for the Flames getting will Smith and celebrities a couple of times.

Huskas always has been a young defenseman coach. Limiting him tonight and probably the rest of the season is not that he's not a huska player but more the fact he's been cruckehed 3 times already this year and the 4th linenof san josenarebthendiffinition of plugs just hunting any body contact

He gad about 13 mins of ice time . The same as frost and Gird8n. But the later we're the only 2 minus players at 1 and he was a plus 1.

We were playing San Jose, they suck so it will happen. 4 points back of the playoff contending San Jose Sharks now. Feel bad for Celebrini, they are a ways off down there without some help

Like a very motivated and slightly angry Texan, so, pretty typical Coleman.

Another meaningless win propelled by the veterans that should be traded.

He’s coming along well. We will see more offence from him soon, but I’ve been impressed as he held the puck well. Made one errant pass but his man missed their timing entering the zone.

Wins are never ever meaningless.

You don't think there is benefit for guys like Parekh or Gridin or Kuzetsnov etc...to get the winning feeling compared to losing over and over again?

This is professional sports where the entire concept is to win your competition. It's why you are compensated so well as an athlete contracted to do so.

The vets will be dealt either in the next week or the summer or even next year.

This team will become much worse before it gets better. Let the kids get a winning attitude/feeling as much as possible right now because the ugly stuff is still to come and we want them to have the good stuff in their data base moving forward.

That game was pretty competitive and entertaining.

The good:
-Wolf was spectacular. He looked as confident as I have ever seen him.
-Kadri finished really well and won a lot of battles, really good showing for what he can still bring
-Whitecloud is a solid defenseman. Such a good skater and a strong guy
-Weegar had one of his better games too
-Farabee looks like a guy who can actually help a team won. I'm not a big fan of Frost but I think the Flames have something in Farabee
-Zary was making plays and winning puck battles too. I might have written him off in my mind too quickly
-Klapka was a force out there. Too bad he hit the crossbar on the play where he stripped the puck off a Shark and powered through the slot. Would have been a great goal.
-Flames PK was solid as usual

The Not So Good:
-Flames powerplay... After being spoiled watching Team Canada enter the zone with ease, it was kind of jarring to see a team struggle just to set up an attack, much less to create chances.

-Parekh wasn't very good in my view last night. He was sat down when the game got close for good reason... He looked timid in the D zone. Before and after the Flames goals in the third he had shifts where he could have skated to pucks but he held back in what looked like a decision to avoid contact. Maybe the coaches have told him to do that if he thinks a big hit is coming but it's kind of exactly why there was concern about developing in the NHL.

Overall though a good game by the Flames with a lot of encouraging signs and really good showings from Kadri and Coleman at a convenient time.

The only thing that was displeasing last night is that the win helped the Oilers. Although watching the Sharks play, I don't think there was a realistic that they were going to make things uncomfortable for the Oilers down the stretch, even with all those games in hand.

Knowing well how Macklin takes big losses, I anticipate he will go on an absolute tear, and drag the Sharks back into the playoff fight.

It’s LA that needs to do their part.

Happy to see the W. This is still “pump up the value” time IMO, so great games by Kadri and Goalman are fine tea. Weegar looked rusty. Parekh looked scared. Klapper just keeps getting better…that Iginla-whisperer thing has worked wonders?

Fine. A road trip win in California when the team is sitting in 29th place and needing to draft as high as possible, where the vets on the trade block do all of the heavy lifting, has 3% meaning. Maybe 5%.

Flames now have won 50 games in a row when scoring 4 or more goals in a game. If I am not mistaken it started late December 2022.
