Zary trending towards a 0.5 PPG season after a concerning start.
Good to see him re-discover his game at this level after some tough injuries.
He has looked great lately and continued his strong play tonight. Love seeing him make confident, skilled plays all over the ice and his aggressive forecheck is being rewarded.

Enjoy the wins, they may be fewer and farther between from here on out.
Wolf, Kadri, and Zary were the stars but I thought it was a solid team effort. Backlund and Farabee also had good games and made some plays.
Loved seeing Coronato out killing the 6 on 5 at the end. I like how Huska is bringing the young players along and putting them in different situations.
Sharangovich remains our most frustrating player this season. He disappears for long stretches at a time.

Surprisingly entertaining game, for the most part. Won’t complain about this W. if nothing else, it showcases some players for potential buyers, and that they’re still in fine form.
I'm so happy we're back to some actual game action tonight. We can finally stop discussing which unavailable or aging defenseman we're going to trade Eklund for, and get back to the true meat and potatoes discussion.
And of course that debate is whether Celebrini plays better without Smith on his wing.

Klingberg is awful. So few of his chances get thru and it gives to other team chance for a counter rush.

Must be depressing coming back from playing with some of the best in the world and having to deal with Klingberg doing #### like that.

I know it’s low hanging fruit to wail on Klingberg but he has made the wrong decision on pretty much every puck touch tonight. He has been the ultimate offense killer
Night of the Wolf
Quote:
Randy kept mentioned Wolf is 9-2 against the Sharks in his career and I kept not wanting to believe it because Wolf hasn't been around that long but it is true. 112 games in his career and nearly 10% of them have been against the Sharks. Next most faced opponent is Anaheim with 6 games.

Sharks play a good 40 minutes and look the better of the two teams. What does Warso do out of the intermission? The only thing he knows how to do in game, use the line blender. Since then? Calgary takes the lead and the Sharks haven’t generated a chance.
Going from Makar to Klingberg as PP1 QB is right up there with going from Cooper to Warso as your coach.

It's a bit of a pessimistic take, but they've already blown through expectations...
Quote:
The sharks D is SOOOO F***ing bad. All 6 of them. I cannot count the number of turnovers, bad passes for icing, O zone shots blocked or wide, fumbles, 2 on 1s and breakaways, bad pinches, you name it. I mean, there was not a single one of them that looked like a Legit NHL dman let alone a top 4. There is ZERO chance the sharks can make any headway with this crew.
Dump them all (except dick, who was awful, but he's 19). Play Mukh to see if he can at least be a top 6. I am tired of watching kling, liljgren, etc. It's embarrasingly bad.
Quote:
Entering tonight Sharks ranked :
#17 in expected goals against
#29 in expected goal differential
#32 in shot attempt %
#32 in expected goals for
Sharks were living on borrowed time, in terms of playoff contention, for the first 3+ months.

Didn't even realize Parekh played.. Is that good or bad.
I think they are really trying to limit his time out there and put him in positions to succeed. It probably didn't help Reeves took 4 or 5 really healthy runs at him too.
I think they are really trying to limit his time out there and put him in positions to succeed. It probably didn't help Reeves took 4 or 5 really healthy runs at him too.
Hope so. I'd like them to focus on facilitating him finding his confidence at this level.
Meaning offensively. Meaning full time PP1 duties.
If we're not letting Parekh be Parekh we may as well hockey trade for someone else more up Ryan Huska's alley.
