Since it's an overnight flight, tell her you took a sleeping pill and want to sleep on the flight and/or take a sleeping pill and sleep through the flight.

Random Linkedin connection requests from financial advisors this time of year...

I guess they know its profit-sharing time and are looking to leach new clients...

Almost as bad as furniture salesmen...

I actually find some jobs in my industry on linkedin that I haven't seen on other platforms. The feed, however, is insufferable.

The company that I work for continues to grow. It has become this multi-billion dollar corporation that is in full acquisition and conquer mode. I fear that we have lost sight of who we are and why we are an industry leader. Unfortunately, it is lousy with corporate weasels that are trying to justify their jobs and have too much time on their hands. The amount of time I spend every week answering these people's silly questions so that they can put it in their reports and send it up to the CEO is infuriating.
I'm just venting but honestly, I start to wonder if the long travel days, long meetings, and hard conversations are something that I want to keep doing. I'm a decade away from retirement probably but man, it is on my mind a lot lately.

ticketmaster RGMG

this summer, the bc lions lose bc place for a while becuz of some soccer thing (i know it's something big with soccer, but i don't like or watch soccer - so yea... don't care. anyways....) the lions are playing 2 "home" games here in kelowna and on june 27th they are playing the stamps!!!!
tickets went on sale this morning so i go to the lions webpage to purchase tickets.
it then sends me to ticketmaster and i can pick seats - ok perfect - seats are selected! let's pay!
i need to enter my email address - done.
now i need to update my password - ok fine, done.
then - please enter the 5 digit one-time code we've emailed you... wait... wait some more... wait some more... and finally get the code
i enter the code
please enter your phone number for 'extra verification' that you say who you say you are.... grrrrrr. i enter my phone number and right away i get a call and enter that number.
finally... i'm in.
i immediately go to enter my credit card info and becuz ticketmaster took so bloody long with the verification crap, the time allotted to purchase the two tickets expired - GRRRRRRR!!!!
so back to ticket selection and it won't release the 2 tickets i had selected that were now expired, so i have to pick 2 different seats. so i do that.
no verifications needed this time.
i go to pay and at this point it tells me that they only give electronic tickets to a cell phone - no email/print at home option. i need the ticketmaster app. so i grab my phone and attempt to download the app but the IOS on my phone is too old (i have an old iphoneSE - basically an iphone6 from 2016). i don't want to update the IOS becuz it will likely kill the phone.
so at this point i'm really ticked off. how do they not have an email/print at home option?? so frustrating.
thankfully my wife was on an extended break at work and was able to buy the tickets and i guess i'll have to bring her phone with me to the game.

i'm pumped i get to take our son to his first stamps game!! it's going to be a blast - but ticketmaster can go get fired into the sun for all i care.

Your phone doesn’t even have internet?

I don’t know man, this seems like entirely a you issue and not a ticketmaster issue.

The email / print at home was causing scams for buyers so they removed it

They didn’t bank on people coming to games with 13 year old phones !

i can access the internet with my phone but i hate doing anything online on a device. pc is soooo much easier.

being online on my phone wouldn't solve the issue of the IOS/ticketmaster app problem

I don’t want to say for sure but I’ve literally never seen that be the case so my guess is that you misread the instructions. Aside from the app, you can also login to ticketmaster on your phone browser and access the tickets (at least every single time I have purchased tickets that has been the case).

Take a peek.

EDIT: Just took a look to confirm. I have two different events coming up, one said “view my tickets” and the other didn’t, but when I tapped into that event it showed my tickets right below the prompt to download the app.

I do sympathize with BC Chris and a lot of others these days with the technology. I am not some massive tech geek and never have the latest stuff but more and more and more of life's basic aspects is getting more complicated when it should not. It's the few companies who continue to benefit as opposed to the general masses.

Not everything needs to be made an app, tech savvy and even more complicated, expensive and challenging. Simplicity is bliss.

My concern is more and more small businesses are falling victim to this level of stupidity and business owners can't seem to grasp how big the market is for older people, simple minded people and minimalist type people. I see it first hand with small businesses not wanting to accept cash, don't have physical menu's (scan bar code) don't have a business phone (want Instagram DM's, emails etc) don't have in house delivery like before, thereby literally saying NO to actual business.

Life's changing too quickly for too many people who are older, less educated, less wealthy, less inclined to adapt and more. It's sad and it should not be like this for people when only the few are really benefiting largely financially.

hey pepsi

i think you may have misunderstood my problem (in addition to the stupid multiple verifications)

the problem is i can't download the ticketmaster app on my phone and it said they only provide an eticket thru the ticketmaster app.

i took a screen shot earlier and this is what it says:
this application (ticketmaster) requires iOS17.0 or later. you must update to iOS17.0 in order to download and use this application.

the problem is if i update to iOS17 it will essentially kill my phone (i'm on iOS15.8). the phone i have is fine for 99.999999% of what i need it for...
i'm not a heavy cell phone user.
i might get/make 2-3 phone calls per month. i just checked the log - the last call was from my wife on feb 20th. call before that was from an embroidery machine tech that was in town on the 11th and coming over to service my machines. the last time i used my cell to make a call was january 26 - like i said, i'm not a heavy cell phone user. i have my landline and it always has great reception and never drops calls.
i use my phone mostly for texting my wife and friends.
about the only other thing is when i'm working on my truck - it's good for getting pics in tight places

but that's about all i use my phone for. i also like it becuz it's small (2.5" x 5"). all the new phones are huge. maybe there are smaller sizes around, but i've never seen any (mind you, i've never looked becuz i'm not interested in getting a new phone when the one i have works for pretty much all my needs... except getting a ticket to a stamps game)

pepsi... one more thing (i'd edit my above post but it won't let me)

it very clearly said i had to download the app... not just go online with my phone to their webpage.
maybe they are full of crap and just trying to direct traffic to the app? i don't know? but the instructions were that i had to download the app onto my phone to access the tickets.

Yeah, I’m just saying try to login to their mobile page and see if you can see your tickets that way instead of bringing your wife’s phone.

Either way you could have bought them on the web browser and then logged in later, you didn’t have to get your wife to buy them on her phone.

Somehow missed this until now. I'm going to try at least half of these suggestions, and see what sticks..
