I might just stay at the pub tonight. Power through.

Your one year old will definitely not know you're drinking beer. Especially if you put it in a coffee cup. Go Canada!

Definitely a little more nervous about this one than any of the previous Canada vs USA best on best games. Crosby hurt. McKinnon not 100%. Also, the team’s method for winning so far is sort of following how the oilers win. Leaky goaltending leads to the team trailing for most of the game. The team loads up the top line and plays them every other shift. Scores on its powerplay chances to tie the game late and take the lead. The US team is playing more like a Florida team in the playoffs that rolls 4 lines and dominates every shift - and they have solid goaltending.

Hoping team Canada can push through and crush the US team. Would be a great win for Canada! Go Canada go!!

That was great.

And it can’t have been a coincidence Matthew T. was in the picture when he used the word “snowflake”…

I get up around 5-6 anyway.
Finding a pub to watch it at for 5am in Vancouver has proved difficult though. The couple places reasonably close are fully booked (Craft, SteamWorks) and most of the others in our area say they won't open; losers

I'm with Cali. A high carb breakfast and something from the nespresso machine will suffice.

I'm well aware of what my body handles these days. Slamming them back at 6 am isn't one of them.

I just want to wake up in the morning with a nice lead over the Americans. No need to wake up early

Heading over to a buddies for the game. Should be about 20 of us, the old hockey team. Mimosas, Irish coffee, Caesar’s, hash browns, sausage frittatas. Should be fun.

In van the Dublin Calling, Greta’s, Shark club and the Sports bar in Roger’s arena will also be open. The Sports Illustrated place as well I think. No idea how full they are though.

I think Canada is going to have a hell of a time beating USA. They're going to effectively have to play them the way every other team has played Canada thus far. In other words, try to get an early lead and play shutdown hockey. I also think the potential for this game to get ugly is very high, and given this, the USA's superior depth (IMO) will become an advantage.

Thanks.
Was hoping to find something around My Pleasant/Fraser where I could take my 3 year old.
Going DT will just be too much with him

Found a couple places saying first come, first serve seating but feels risky with him

McDavid tops all forwards on the US side.
MacKinnon too but he’s far from 100%. Other lines I think are an even match, albeit different styles.

US has better offensive defense. Defensive defence probably a wash.
Goaltending a wash.

It’ll come down to penalties and power plays. McDavid gets multiple points will mean Canada wins.

Wildcard for the US will be Brady. Marchand and Bennett and Wilson know whats coming and will be relatively under control. So will Matt because all of those guys have won Cups. It’s Brady that could go off the deep end though and cost his team.
