The return of an 80's Oiler to babysit is a strong indicator of collapse.

Is there a casting couch in the room? No? Then Katz doesn't care if he reads it or not.

Surprised they didn't get Messier or Gretz, Coffey's had his turn on the casting couch.

All the Oilers' fans at work here are absolutely pumped. Think they were just a Coffey behind the bench away from cup favorites. ####ing muppets.

Are they ever going to figure out that Nurse is just outright bad, and no amount of coaching is going to make him a 1st or 2nd pairing Dman? And that you aren't paying the Bouch bomb for his defence (although, some laser eye surgery might do wonders), so you have to live with the neverending series of turnovers and lack of compete in his own zone?
It's just a bad core, and spending $19.5 million on those two is going to keep it that way. It simply can't be fixed while they are on the team...which I am all good with.

This pretty well confirms that barring a Stanley Cup win, Knoblauch will not be back next season as Oilers head coach.

The guy didn’t even want the job to begin with, so the only reason he was cajoled back was filthy lucre. He’s probably paid more than the head coach, so that won’t go over well either.

Ownership meddling. You hate it when it's happening for a team you cheer for but nothing better when it's happening to a team you cheer against. I hope that little couch sniffing pervert has some other aces up his sleeve to force on management.

Nurse on Mavi:
Even if the look on McDavid’s face doesn’t exactly scream ‘fun’.
“I’m sure he’s having fun on the inside,” Nurse said.
—-
Now we know! All of awkward pictures and uncomfortable looks are because Mavi is too busy having fun inside to look happy outside.

Yep, Gretz on the bench with a water bottle of scotch telling them how he used to do it. Mess in the GM's office telling him he is stupid and phoning Katz to say he wants to be GM.
They all figure some of Sather's genius rubbed off on them.
