This probably seems most realistic. Maybe we could get a slightly better deal just due to the fact that Coleman is a proven winner. I could live with a 2nd and a 3rd though.

Guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Trochek absolutely, I think he will go first. From what I have heard O Reilly is not being shopped, the Preds are only 4 points out. Also, O Reilly might be easier to move next year as well as a new GM making that deal instead of Trotz who is retiring.

I would take a 1st and Cihar for Kadri from LA. Kadri makes more sense for them than Petterson. From Minny, take 1st, Heidt, Trenin.

Weegar going would be awesome.

Good team guy, but we aren’t competing and he’s one of those veterans we have signed longer-term that we just don’t need to hold onto in to his later years. With the addition of Whitecloud, we have a solid veteran guy to stick around and help lead alongside Bahl as the next wave peppers in.

Steinberg’s chats re: Kadri have always seemed like “expectation setting” so as to not get fans hopes up, as he’s said it’s not a deal that needs to happen now but and can be pushed off to the Summer.

Coleman + Kadri + Weegar all getting traded would be a grand slam.

Conroy could finally put the nail in the Treliving remnants, with Huby and his hips being the last relic.

On Kadri and LA, it’d make sense to see George and a 1st as the return in my eyes.

Oh man. This team less Andersson, Weegar, and Coleman isn't going to be pretty next season but I'll drive them both to the airport if the returns are solid.

I think we undervalue the impact Bahl, Parekh, and Bruzstewicz for full-seasons will have. They’re smart, good players.

Weegar, Kadri and Coleman getting traded? What will people have to complain about?

What do people think about Adam Benak from Minny? I don’t have much exposure to him outside of the last WJC, but he impressed me there.

Weegar has been pretty bad for most of the season, although he seems to be playing better lately. If we could trade him for something good, I'd do it immediately.

I do think that if he goes to a team where he doesn't need to carry the team, he probably does a lot better.

And yet still not on par with those three.

It's going to be a painful 4-5 years.

And i am ok with it.

With Ottawa 6 points out of the playoffs in the East they may wait till off season to make the move for Weegar.

With no first round pick this year it might be better for them to make the deals and go for it. Whether they give up a 2027 first round pick or a prospect now or in the summer they are still giving them up, but having Weegar now gives them a chance for this year and allows them to build the relationships for next year.

I'll drive them anyway. It's a nice thing to do for someone. Plus, they might have good stories.

I don't think we do. I think you maybe overestimate their ability to make an immediate impact. Look at SJ and their young guys. It's taken several years to climb from the basement. Eklund is now in his 3rd full season. Smith and Celebrini are in their second. The Sharks finished dead last with those guys ( and other young guys like Mukhamadullin, Thrun and Askarov) last season.

I don't know if they'd ever trade him given he is a hometown boy but I feel like Charlie Stramel is textbook as far as what the flames should be looking for in a Kadri return, big center and close to NHL ready. Also while he is putting up good numbers this year finally he really struggled his first few years in college and I don't think he's a blue chipper that a team absolutely wouldn't part with on paper as far as his profile

I wouldn't be in a rush to move the guy.

He's having a tough season, sure, but that can be explained away with him being the unluckiest defensemen in the NHL by the numbers. He has a PDO of .924 at even strength which quite frankly isn't remotely sustainable. You also have to factor in that he's playing tough minutes next to a rookie defensemen who passed through waivers to start the season (and I like Kuznetsov). During his tenure here he has been tasked with carrying around bottom of the roster defenders in high leverage situations and despite that has turned out elite results until this season. Moving him now when that isn't occurring due to poor luck more than anything seems like bad idea to me.

That seems like a “I’m getting traded” type of move…

Hemming + a 2nd for Coleman seems about right to me.
