Martok would absolutely murder that Klingon clown. His blood pressure would be like one of those Carnival Games where you use the hammer and try and hit the bell...

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Yeah, I just watched it and thought it was pretty poor
Spoiler!
Symbiotes in Star Trek Lore live up to 500 years, this show takes place about what? a thousand years after deep space 9 Dax would have been dust.
They didn't solve the mystery of Sisko, that was solved pretty much right at the last minute of DS9.
Now we have characters breaking the 4th wall.
WTF was with the opening banner written in crayon, that was just utterly cringe.
They had the typewriter that Sisko used in the episode where he saw himself as a pulp fiction writer, how the F is that real in the museum.
The hologram character is dumb and annoying, and now they program her to be drunk.
The B story line was meaningless.
The whole episode ended up being about absolutely nothing.
The voice over by Sisko in the end was from one of his spoken records from years ago, and really had nothing to do with anything.
The bar scene between the war college students and the academy students was just outright dumb. Why the hell a thousand years down the road are they talking in 20th century terminology?
This show comes down to a lot of problems, the writers are completely awful and just reinvent #### in their heads.
The acting has utterly slid downhill.
Half the time I have no clue what the Captain is saying.
I thought Discovery was bad, I like Tawny Newsome in Lower Decks, but she gets the writing credit for this, she should have her laptop taken away.
Dude, why are you watching it?!?! It obviously ain't for you and that's okay.
If you must continue to watch "because it's Trek", just go into it without any biases or expectations and enjoy it for what it's intended to be: a fun expression of 2026 college life, and relatable stories for today's generation...that happens to be set in the Trek universe.
I, for one, and my friends, have been enjoying it all (besides some awkward stuff in the first ep) because we are just appreciating the characters and stories.
But to voluntarily subject yourself to weekly torture, just so you can raise your blood pressure and then rant, is highly illogical.

I see where you're going but even according to your very, very loose criteria its still not very good.

What drugs are you taking before you start viewing?

For the record the average life span of a Trill symbiote is 300-500 years. There are some that live past this. We have never been told the age of the oldest living Trill.
It's still shoe horning a "cameo" into the show with the bonus of also being a second cameo because of who is playing her. It's bad writing in hopes of appealing to old Trek fans since what they're writing cannot attract any new ones.
If the writer of Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, and Beowulf wants to work on your project for nothing, that would seem like a win. There was one problem, though: Roger Avary isn’t just an acclaimed writer; he’s also a huge Star Trek fan.
How big a fan is he? Avary claims his family watches two or three Star Trek episodes nearly every day. He loves Star Trek so much that he offered to work on it, basically for free, when current Trek overlord Alex Kurtzman began launching new Star Trek television shows in the 2010s.
“I went in and met with the guy, I was like, I will write for scale. I will write on your new show. I just want to be part of it.”
Kurtzman’s response was a hard no, and as Avary explains it, “He didn’t want anybody who had any kind of fondness for the original show. He wanted to do something new and create something new.”
Or as Avary put it: “This dweeb Alex Kurtzman just comes along and s**ts all over everything… Starfleet Academy is an abomination. I could not get through three episodes of Discovery. It’s just awful, awful storytelling… Picard was terrible.”
It's all intentional. The Dweeb literally set out to destroy Trek on purpose.

Because there's just not much on TV at the moment that's great, I've changed my mindset on this to the theory, that its either a actual parody of Star Trek, or the writing room is a daycare for not very smart children. I mean at the end of the day, the damage to the Star Trek IP that Kurtzman has done is astronomical, which is sad. With really low viewership (not even top 10 streaming on their own platform, and the show getting savaged, the smart move would be to refilm the last episode of season 1 where Holly Hunter causes the destruction of the known universe and they don't bother putting up season two, then finish up SNW, and just put Trek on the back burner for a decade.

That episode was tonally all over the goddamned place, Giamatti was doing all of the heavy lifting there.
I still cannot stand Holly Hunter.
Nor can I stand the new ships that have disconnected nacelles and main bodies from their saucer sections, that is so, so stupid.
Speaking of stupid...
Spoiler!
that ending was pretty rough. Although I did enjoy Giamatti just unapologetically sticking it to her.

Again, not on purpose. He just thought he knew what we wanted more than we did and he could give us something bigger.
He couldn't and it was a colossal #### up that has sunk the franchise by alienating old fans and making almost zero new ones. But it wasn't on purpose. He's not that good at anything he does to be that successful on purpose.
Here's hoping none of those writers on Academy ever get another job.
Spoiler!
So let me get this straight, in order to safe a handful of cadets, the Federation is willing to negotiate with Nus Braka to stop the shipment of dilithum to a whold planet thus screwing probably a million people. Ridiculous.
Then Ake istead of having logical writing helping her where she makes a deal with Nus only to screw him later because he's a murdering psychopath, she lets him go and he basically goes on a murder spree.
Worst leadership ever.
The Furies, no sorry the Reavers Cannibals are beatan by what is basically a psychic scream, by the Betazed who's name escapes me.
Miss eat her comm badge, and freak out yelling red alert, freaks out again on seeing a body and is escorted off of the bridge, and this is the academy that is teaching future leaders and Captains? The admission requirements are low.
Why is a hologram who can turn herself basically untouchable and invulnerable scared again?
Oh no the Vulcan died, this was supposed to be the big emotional moment but can anyone even name him? This is Discovery level writing.
I was laughing at how ridiculous this whole episode was because everyone and especially Ake (worst chancellor captain ever) act and the decision they make.
The Writers need to be fired, not one well written and acted and logical episode yet. But its funnier then re runs of the Brady Bunch.
