I disagree, I always preferred the local sponsors which gave us the historic Viagra Saddledome.

Sorry, Pengrowth Saddledome.

Which is exactly why they don't have named anymore. The Saddledome predates are a naming rights so despite the sponsorship the Saddledome name is the first choice. With the new rink corporations won't name them just the sponsor name and thag it. They give it a name with rotating sponsors no one will notice the guys who are paying.

I still remember the little airplane blimp that fly around during intermissions dropping coupons.

Where is the ice level? Is it going where the bottom of the construction is or will it be higher up?

To nitpick, but Canadian Airlines was HQ'd in Calgary too so therefore qualify as a 'local' sponsor by my definition.

That is a steep bowl it appears. Almost like and inverted bowl, just like they said.

Kind of hoping for a modern Chicago stadium. You know, the old barn before they got into the United center.

Got the email today to complete a short survey about options for what seats I would want (lower/upper bowl, corner/centre etc.)

What does "invited on a rolling basis" exactly mean? My account seniority (1999) puts me in timeslot 2 of the annual seat relocation event, but I've received nothing in terms of a survey or Scotia Place Experience invite.

I got the email today, but we go back to the 1980's. I assumed everyone got the email though, as it said we would hear about next steps at a later date.

I talked to my rep today and he said the staff just went through and he is excited for the STH to go through. He did say it was going to be based on seniority, but I think certain type of seats get pushed to the front (assuming club, gold, silver boxes). Sounded like they are still organizing and rolling people through the experience will happen up to a year or more.

Similarly mine are back to then too. We got the email. It’s not too exciting yet. But will be exciting to see the experience centre

I'm going to a scotch tasting with two buds at Entuitive who are working on this on Saturday. Just structural engineering. One worked for Calatrava for the past 13 years in Dubai. They have said the bowl is going to be impressive. Any questions I should ask? I am a guy who cannot visualize unless I'm in it. Trying to get sight of the inside renderings.

Is the angle of the seats and stars in the upper bowl similar to Edmonton?
I swear those are more vertigo inducing than the Dome sometimes.

I believe it’s closer to little ceasers but upper bowls are super steep now

I wonder how that would go in the form of a poll amongst Calgarians?
