Well, that "split" is the majority of the party, which really speaks to the problem. The government isn't just courting separatists to keep power and keep the peace. They are separatists.

A lot of his defenders have been saying "He didn't say he supported separating!" They're right -- when asked point-blank, he declined to state his position on the record.
People who aren't in favour of separatism eagerly come right out and say it. Refusing to give an answer is an answer, because there is a very public price to be paid for being the type of dipѕhit moron to be in favour of the Alberta separatism movement, ill-concealed laughter being one of said prices.

Yup, the separatists are absolute cowards. They take their colour of action from the flag, but it's not the sea of blue they embrace. Its the yellow wheat belly, cowering away at the bottom demonstrating zero moral conviction. These are the losers of humanity, thrashing and flailing about in the wind, but don't you dare ask them to stand behind their positions.

While fun, I've found it more fun to flood these with some of the following:
Deez Nuts
Mike Hunt
Mike Oxlong
Harry Bush
Heywood Jablome
Jack Mehoff
And so on.

Yeah, but you guys are smart enough to see that this is what makes it so dangerous. Everyone who supports this and is embarrassed will end up all alone in the voting booth and there is no one there to make them feel any shame. That's exactly how Britain left the EU, and it's really exactly how Trump won in 2016 as well.

Alberta reconsiders cutting health coverage for some temporary foreign workers after concerns raised
|
Quote:
In a statement to CBC News, Alberta’s Ministry of Primary and Preventative Health Services said it has heard concerns from employers and workers about what it called a “premature decision” made within the department.
The government says it has now paused the change while it reviews the policy.
A ministry spokesperson said that IEC Type 58 permit holders are once again eligible for the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan "provided their work permit is valid for at least 12 months and they have proof of full-time employment."
|
Quote:
“We continue to urgently seek clarity from Alberta Health and the ministry on when public information is going to be available,” she said.
Van der Merwe said the lack of public information makes it difficult for workers and businesses to plan ahead.

Sounds like this government needs to work on...a Clarity Act.

The separatists really don't like when you drive up, give them a dramatic thumbs down with a pfffft farty noise.

Absolutely -- I'm of the opinion that there is a real risk of there being more of these idiots than meets the eye. Even though I'm still somewhat comfortable in my assumption that they're ultimately a minority, there is no room to rest on that assumption. If this ever comes down to a vote (which I'm hoping it doesn't), anyone and everyone who is for a unified Canada needs to get the hell out of their house and vote in support of staying.

My guess is when the separatist petition fails they put the forever Canada question on the ballot with a 'not' conspicuously added, and frame it as a question on separation, talking about who the question was confusing and lacked clarity for those who want to express their desire to separate.
If which I doubt the separatist succeed, I am guessing the accept the separatist question on the ballot, and say with the lower number of signatures fewer people had their chance to weight in on the question, and that it would be unclear if they had two questions on the same topic on the ballot.
Because Danny girl there thinks she is smarter than her voters, and as stupid as she is, who knows.

You really shouldn’t do that. It lends to the headline submitted number being higher then it really is, and it assumes the signitures will be verified effectively by elections Alberta whose funding was cut, and will spur charges of rigging of the threshold is met but then not met after review.

That is probably true - "shy separatists." However, there are probably even more people that are leaning yes, but will vote no when push comes to shove (or not vote at all).

Not to mention that a person commits an offense if the person affixes a false or forged signature on a recall petition.

Plus I don’t know if those cowards should be complaining about writing silly things on their forms being an offence when the well placed kick in the face they deserve is much worse.

No one cares.
The actual problem is the verification process is not a comprehensive verification, and GGG's point that fake / novelty signings may be counted as legit stands.
