You are correct about Abbott - maybe we were spoiled with Ball but Abbott just misses so much, mixes players up, doesn't know things like what a reverse hit looks like.

Yeah I think you're spot on with Hrudey. He's rarely called out a poor play by a player, he's an extremely positive guy who just focuses on skilled players and skilled plays. The most critical he gets is when a goalie makes a mistake because that's obviously his area of expertise.

Abbott just adds nothing IMO, he provides a baseline generic video game level commentary but because he replaced Rick Ball... the difference is staggering. We were so spoiled with him.

I mean, Hrudey said the first and second goals ths Flames scored should have been stopped, and then asked us to feel sorry for the Oilers because they had three penalties. I think he is quite balanced against everyone but the Oilers.
