I’m brand new to this game, did my first trip Friday. This was my approach as well. Seemed necessary for sanity.

Its like my mom...she only gets gas at Costco because its a few cents a liter cheaper but she waits in line forever and its out of her way. By the time she's gotten the gas the savings are gone just for getting there and back and the time spent waiting.

When he switches to regular food we will switch away, but his previous owners had him on Costco stuff, dogs hate switching food.

Oh...that pup's got you by the balls! He should eat what you give him and be thankful for it!!

Otherwise...there is always Fish Creek Park. You just take the collar off and wander away.

Yeah, if you value your own time at even minimum wage, I think the savings start to break down very fast.

I'm not the person to ask or comment because I dont drive a lot, but for me convenience is key. I also dont have a ginormous gas tank, if its $44 here or $46 there I'm not waiting around or going out of my way to save a couple bucks.

If its a huge amount? Sure. Then I get the decision. But for me it isnt. I fill up at the gas station that is most convenient.

the money we save on our 2 dogs getting kirkland dog food alone pays for the costco membership after 2 purchases.

I just bought these pants and I've worn them once and they already have a tear in the stitching!

Curse these feckless Indonesian sweatshop children and their lack of care as it pertains to their poor craftsmanship! If I ever get to Indonesia I am going to give them a piece of my mind!

Costco delivers - if you aren’t going at 8-9am when it’s empty and getting dog food just get 5 bags delivered and worry about it again in 6 months

Why waste your time if you aren’t “shopping” / like the experience …???

I understand your pain. My old shaver fell a few years ago and broke. Replacements I bought since ... Ok... But nothing as good as the old ones. They last a year or so before being useless.

With a favourite podcast on noise cancellation. Almost bliss. Almost.

Visiting a Costco in a rush seems like a recipe for failure and disappointment. I always wait for a day where I'm in a good mood, and it's not peak times at Beacon Hell.

And the broth! Oh man...the broth...so good.
Wonton King. Sadly the daughter didn't want to continue the business and all locations were closed.

Dog food delivery was a game changer for us. Our dog is 15 and she stopped eating her kibble, but she will eat Acana premium canned food. It’s a bit pricey, but I wasn’t ready for the alternative.

We auto order from Dexters every month, it just shows up on the doorstep. 5% off for autoship and another 5% in loyalty rewards. On the feel good side, Dexters is a locally owned independent business in Ogden and the food is made in Alberta.

Yes, it is significantly cheaper dog food, especially for the quality.

The gas lines at Taza Costco aren't that bad usually (maybe a two or three car wait), and it is often a whole lot cheaper than anywhere else nearby. Plus, it's as close to me as any other gas station.

Anything you buy at Costco is easily returnable, it's usually cheaper, and they carry a lot of stuff that any normal person wants to buy in bulk.

Like Coach says, they'd benefit from lanes inside the store (Taza is better than any other Cotsco though) and I dislike the sample grazing crowd.

Taza? Is that a bastardization of T'suu T'ina?

Just went to Costco this morning. The key is to get there at 845am. So easy. You couldn't pay me $10000 to go anytime after 930am.

Was also in the Edmonton Business Costco this weekend. Not really useful and they don't have a cafeteria. but they are the only place you can buy a case of Prince Polo/Marco Polo Chocolate Wafers so i go twice a year!! yum

Other than right when they open at 6am, I have yet to see a short line there. Just for reference it even shows a long line on Google Maps.

The other thing is the price. While they are usually the cheapest in the area, once you factor in a rewards at other stations (8 cents at Co-op, 5 cents at most other stations)- you are usually down to a cent or two per litre.

Taza is a Tsuut’ina word meaning “something wonderous.” according to the Calgary Herald.
