I disagree, I always preferred the local sponsors which gave us the historic Viagra Saddledome.

Which is exactly why they don't have named anymore. The Saddledome predates are a naming rights so despite the sponsorship the Saddledome name is the first choice. With the new rink corporations won't name them just the sponsor name and thag it. They give it a name with rotating sponsors no one will notice the guys who are paying.

Ice level is the bottom of the construction. around 30' below grade.

To nitpick, but Canadian Airlines was HQ'd in Calgary too so therefore qualify as a 'local' sponsor by my definition.

That is a steep bowl it appears. Almost like and inverted bowl, just like they said.

Kind of hoping for a modern Chicago stadium. You know, the old barn before they got into the United center.
