Can he do it against NHL goalie?

They used to say that against Johnny

The guy dominated every level , there is no reason he can’t

That goalie has played 10 games in the NHL this year.

His offensive output at the NHL level is no concern to me. Yes, 1 point in his 11 games with the Flames looks pretty underwhelming but important to remember how much the team stunk at the beginning of the season.

At this point I don't see much of a point in being too critical of his development, it's been a weird year for him. He's been in & out of lineups due to injuries and has played on what? 4 different rosters?

He mentioned the amount of pressure and expectations from the fans in his post game interview.

This guy can't be on an island. The next core needs to have a lot of stars and it's not even close yet. Ideally Parekh would be one of a handful of 4-5 elite players that define the next core. I really do not want to redo the Iginla era of just 2 stars and a team of scrappy nobodies. It's a nice story but not a real competitive strategy.

That first goal was almost as impressive and something he did in the WJC a couple of times. He seems to have an incredibly accurate shot from the point through traffic. It's super deceptive as he looks like he isn't even trying for a shot and then he surprises everyone as he picks a corner (that one hit the post and then off the goalie, but the same).

I think we're going to see a lot of those.

I was at the game and this isn't going to be popular but I can see why Dryden Hunt gets called up occasionally.

If your expectation is 4-5 elite players you will be disappointed. Does any team have 4+ elite players?

Parekh will be fine and I have complete faith in the current young guys and prospects, plus the new prospects we'll acquire in the next 2-3 years, to round out a solid core.

Point Kuch Vasi Hedman (Can even argue Guentzel)
They also had Stamkos for a long time

But it is rare. I think you need 3 to be a perennial contender

Well we're always disappointed in the Flames so I do expect that to continue, but as to your question... no of course that's not unrealistic to expect that much talent. Every stanley cup winning team yeah

I believe it was Wes Gilbertson who tweeted that it is one time only, for 2 weeks max

Is that a compliment of Hunt or you saying the rest of our forwards on the farm right now still need a lot of work?

Every time he gets in the lineup he's been good in his role. His birth certificate is the issue for people.

Pretty hard to put up points on the Flames...our top guys have like 30 points

Fla has 3: Tkachuk, Barkov and Bobrovsky. Plus, one good player who turns it on.

Colorado had Makar, Mackinnon and Rantanen. And then they had a bunch of very good players (and their goalie had one of his good years).

Vegas had Eichel and Stone. Marchessault turned it on like Bennett but he's not elite - he was outpointed by Chandler Stephenson that year. Great supporting cast.

Good question. He just seemed more consistent throughout the game. The younger players showed some flashes but he didn't really have a bad shift.
