the flames just need to ensure they finish in that 2nd last spot. getting last seems unachievable with the canucks being terrible.

if the flames end up 1st or 2nd, i have no issues with taking either mckenna or stenberg....i do have an issue dropping to 3rd though.

I think if they’re 3 you offer the pick to SJ for Misa. Gotta think they’d love Verhoeff to pair with Dickinson for the next decade

I'm not convinced Miss is better than Lawrence or Bjork.

Calling out bad comps is hardly 'being invested". Also, I apologize if I got this wrong, but your post seems to be trying to get a rise out of people who like McKenna, almost as if you are trying to troll them.

I, for one, still have McKenna 1st overall this draft. However, there are a few players that I would also be fine with. You may dislike the prospect, and that's 100% fine, but if you want to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this pick you will find a lot of willing participants.

Hes super rare.

Go and find players who put up 2.3 ppg in the CHL in their D-1 seasons when they were 16/17 years old, lemme know how long that list is.

Equating McKenna to Huberdeau because he isn't charging through grown adult men at 17 years old and 172lbs is an impressive leap in logic.

Yeah, he dishes the puck from safety so much that he put up 3 goals and 0 assists last night.

I was questioning McKenna as much as anyone before the WJC, but so far in the second half of the season he’s putting those doubts to rest. If he carries on the way he’s going, he’s #1 overall without a doubt.

? It's a 2026 draft thread. We're gonna be talking about McKenna, especially as a team with good odds to grab him.

It would be a damn shame if he ends up a frickin whale.

If it's not to calgary, let him go anywhere outside of the pacific..

Verhoeff had 5 points in 2 games this weekend - 17 points in 22 games as a 17-year old freshman is impressive

Kane and Kucherov are two good examples of wingers that control the offense from their wing, holding the puck, moving around, and creating seams. As is McKenna.

Huberdeau doesn't hold the puck and control the offense, he excels on the rush, and is always looking for the quick pass.

Stylistically, not a match.

If SJ is going to move Misa, that’s what it would take.
