Can’t see Kadri going too Seattle unless it’s not on his list.

I love it when people post random thoughts.
Why would Kadri go? Why would Seattle give up on a 1st rounder so soon? Why give up a 1st pick as well for a 30+ with $7 mill a season term?

Helenius is the dream acquisition. But I cannot imagine he's anywhere close to available for trade. He's had a really nice start for the sabers.

Zary, a proven for a ceiling? Sorry, I don't get it. And then to include Whitecloud?

The Sabres would be absolutely foolish to give up Helenius for a couple of meh players that wouldn't move the needle much, if at all.
But if there was a team to make that type of mistake, it would be Buffalo...

Kekalainen isn't scared of making moves, but he's not trading the potential next Finnish star, who's basically from his own hometown. He also didn't even let the kid go to the WJC, which would have been a great place to showcase him.
I'd love it if he were open to moving him, but it isn't happening.
Athletic article says Kekalainen is willing to make a move before the deadline, but he's going to be patient as they want to do more than just get into the playoffs: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/699...mo-kekalainen/

Pass. Stay away from Finn's. Their bust rate is just to high in modern day hockey.

Doubtful, based on position.

Helenius is playing very well in the AHL.
I’m not too worried about a bust, but definitely a lower ceiling.
Either way, Buffalo isn’t moving him nor is Kadri or Coleman waiving to go there lol.

For whatever reason, Finns and Quebecers are extremely risky.
Even at the top of drats.

With Lomberg a UFA at the end of the year would he be worth a 2nd to a contender? do we want to pay 2+ mil for a 32 year old Lomberg and if so what term?

You get whatever they offer for Lombo, he's not the kind of player you hold off moving for a massive return.

I'd be surprised if he returns a second, but I think a third or fourth are certainly possible.
