The original He-Man show only had 2 seasons and was broadcast from 1983-1985. Although they did cram 65 episodes into those two seasons. The show stayed on for years after its broadcast in syndication.

I was a very young child when He-Man was firs broadcast, and didn't seem to take any issue with the name "He-Man". The target audience for the show was aged 4-8. Kids that age are pretty into cheesy things. I remember loving the toys. A neighbourhood kid had the castle with the trap door. I was jelly.

I remember also seeing Conan the Barbarian at a pretty young age....that was definitely not for kids.

Amazon/MGM really missed the mark by not switching out the MGM lion with Cringer or Battle Cat.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how fun Masters of the Universe looks. I don't think anybody's expecting high art or auteur cinema here, just a self-aware, unapologetically ridiculous fantasy spectacle powered by nostalgia, that understands exactly what it is and leans into it.

I don't think I can handle a He-Man that has more than four frames of animation.

Anything has to be better than the awful one from the 80s with Dolph Lundgren and Courteney Cox.

Oddly, more accurate to the original toy bible.

That and the Super Mario movie were totally baffling. Both had almost nothing to do with the original source material.

Fun trivia fact. They had planned to shoot a sequel to the 1980s He-man movie (and a Spiderman movie). They spent $2,000,000 on sets and costumes, only to later pull the plug. They recycled those sets and costumes in the Jean Claude Van Damme vehicle, Cyborg, which ended up being far more profitable:

The only difference I want between Adam and He-Man is the tan and wardrobe.

Very few actually jacked actors are any good, and good actors trying to get that big is a tough ask. So you're left with CGI and bodysuits and whatnot and those could go either way.

I dunno...it wasn't really something that bothered me. I will settle for the fact that they stuck with the comically stupid haircut!

Yes...he just walked straight out of 1983.
My guy's arms literally can't touch his sides when he's walking around as Prince Adam. Got that Chris Benoit physique going, I feel like that's jacked enough.
