I just hope both Canada and Europe draw the right conclusions from this episode. The US simply isn't a reliable partner anymore and it probably won't be for quite some time. I find it a bit disheartening when people put their hopes in "midterms are coming" ... Jeffrey Epsteins BFF is already questioning whether midterms should even be a thing. He won't be able to cancel them, but it would be naive to think he won't do whatever he can to make the outcome as favorable as possible. And even if you believe in fair midterms: the US electorate deserves absolutely zero trust to get this right. Over 77 million Americans voted for this sad fart only 14 months ago, I see no reason to believe that voters will punish him this time around.

I don't think you can just sit this out and somehow make it to midterms/2028/whenever and think things are going to return to normal once the old fart leaves office or goes to hell ... Peter Thiel and friends will be more than ready for the moment. The US have been so poisoned this past decade, there's not going to be a quick fix after Trump. The quicker Canada, Europe and other allies accept this reality and work together towards more independence from the US, the better.

Did Lutnick not speak with his boss before making his dumbass comments? Trump himself said he had no problem with Carney’s China deal just a few days ago, saying something along the lines of “good for them. If you can get a deal with China, you should do it.”
