Why? they did better by waiting...they got more than a first. Heck it could be 3 firsts.
Some posters wouldnt even admit it was a good trade at that point though.

In no other state have they been playing this stupid game.

I think in one of the radio hits Conroy said during or shortly after the Olympic break.

Anyway...I have heard the Flames are being offered a 2nd for Whitecloud. They are holding out for a 2 seconds or a first. Source a fomer Flames player that is usually right when he says these things but not directly tied to the organization anymore.
Would put the Ras trade into HR territory IMO

I've said all I have to say on the matter. My point is that ICE is, or should be, a non-factor in any player's choice of trade destinations. Kadri already plays over 30 games a year in the U.S. He knows how it actually works, which is not how fearmongers portray it.

From what I've heard, there's no timeframe restrictions at all.
There's no frenzy or rush for anyone else at this point, so I don't see any urgency to getting Kadri or Coleman moved RIGHT now (outside of a better tanking %)
But they're fielding a ton of calls, it continues to be very busy and Calgary is open for business.

Barring a blow their socks off type offer I imagine the flames will be relatively quiet until the TDL. No urgency to trade anyone pre Olympic break

They should do Coleman a favor and give his family that 18 day freeze to get moved and settled in to his new location

If a team is offering a first for Whitecloud I'd drive him to the airport myself.

I doubt there will be a trade until he's game ready at the very least.

Yep, league, PA, and police had to get involved. He has mentioned it when talking about why he chose Calgary. Its certainly a factor for him.

it should be, but it certainly isn't for people of a certain complexion in the US in 2026. You can choose to close your eyes if you want to, but that doesn't mean it's not happening.

This cliche always makes me laugh. I'd drive any Flame to the airport if they asked.

I want to see Coleman to Tampa for O'Reilly. I think he looks like a quality 3/4 line C.
We can add a depth D if necessary.
What about Kadri to BOS for 1st and Poitras?
This would give us 2 C prospects on the precipice of making the league.
We need to get some ripe C prospects in the system instead of draft picks that are 5 years away from the show.
