It's nice the cars will have a place by the river to wind down and relax.

Hopefully they at least fill it with dozens of poles. Want to make sure it fits with the vibe.

Here's maybe a weird one for this thread, but yesterday evening I stumbled upon the news that Global News shuttered their contracts for helicopter traffic updates across the country.
No more little Robinson 44 making noise all over the city when we all use Waze anyways. It was also up all the time on weekends, what was up with that?
I won't miss it.

Worked at Hamptons Co-op many many years ago. Met some great people there. Pour one out.

Their prices are high but I still shop their to support local over sending my money to a billionaire out East or in the U.S.

New Rosie's Burgers is open in Marda Loop, the 3rd in Calgary now I think.
I don't care for Rosie's. Pretty bad actually.

Hope something good goes in there. I dread another Dollarstore.

Coop seems to keep creeping up in prices. Like others have mentioned I've always tried to support them as a Canadian grocery store, but I have a limit and it's tough to give up so much money each trip, these days.

Also the last Toys R Us in Calgary closed last week, the one in Cross Irons.
Seems like they have been closing them all across Canada. Not sure what is left, but looks like they are completely gone in Alberta.

I was about to reply that the one on Macleod is still there only to find out that it just closed down 3 or 4 weeks ago. I completely missed that news.

I like Co-op bagels and other bakery things, but that's usually the extent of it. Good quality stuff, nice stores, but I just can't justify the prices.
I'm basically Galen Weston's bitch at this point. Prices are creeping up at Superstore too, but still much lower than Co-op, Save On, etc. PC Express is easy and I don't have to deal with the worst part of Superstore - the people.

Its way overpriced. Bakery and meat and its close are the only reason I go. I don't do Superstore and barely tolerate Costco. Sobeys/Safeway bread is the spawn of satan. Superstore satisfies those that like food at the lowest cost that fits in their facehole.

My kids had some gift cards from a couple Christmas' ago and I figured I should take them to Toys R Us in Crossiron before they closed, and the shelves were empty. It doesn't help that prices were higher than Walmart/Amazon. It's sad to see this place close because I loved this store growing up as a child in the 90s.
