I don’t understand why we’re trading Andersson to Vegas without an extension. Andersson is willing to sign with Vegas. Vegas is going to sign Andersson. This is a joke unless we’re getting fair value for an extended Andersson.

If there is no extension. How were the other rumored offers not better? It's not like Ras had 100% control of his destiny.

Maybe they don’t need to learn this lesson for the umpteenth time and trade Coleman and Kadri. This is a business , would be nice if the Flames started to treat it like one

The Boston or Leafs 26 pick is likely 20-15.
This trade just makes it more likely the 26 pick we already have from them is 28-32, and the 27 will likely be in a similar spot.
Unless it's 2 1sts and 2 prospects it's worse than what Boston had
|
I expect Boston was only interested with an extension in place. Probably same for other teams. So, most offers ended up being a first and some stuff.

Can we at least wait until we find out the return before we declare it a bad trade?
And, the return comes in as I post this... yeah, underwhelming.

This is what you risk when you take players to free agency and don’t deal them earlier. All leverage is lost, and it’s a pattern this team can’t stop repeating.

You really love trying to pat yourself on the back. Nothing you said was relevant or even close to "bang on". You never even mentioned Vegas, you had Andersson negotiating with Boston and maybe SJ. It's as ridiculous as trying to take a victory lap in the Drasatl contract thread when you were wrong about half a dozen different things

That's significantly better than the Hanifin return
