Instant gratification society + more information (include “inside” info) than we’ve ever had before = impatient people with a warped perception of timelines/process.
Some trades that seemingly come out of nowhere turn out to have been in progress for months (Hughes) or longer.
As Jiri said: this is the fun part. Once Andersson is traded it’s over. But the nice part about it is that the people stressing and complaining about the timeline can just switch their attention to Coleman/Kadri, and they may have over a year of material to work with there.
For the rest of us this is pretty enjoyable.

Tij for Andersson would be a deal Utah likely does not do.

Its great that we haven't had any negative news on the bruins andersson negotiations, that feels like a good sign. Hopefully if the Bs like him enough to pay such a heavy price in trade they won't balk at the 9 mil a year with the cap going up
Wonder if Rasmus is dragging his feet a little to see if another team wants him enough to pay the price to be allowed to negotiate to give him another option.

Yeah, Cliff and Coates were beauties and Conroy is quickly earning his spot next to them as shapers of this team.

Sutter had plenty of solid trades too. Mostly acquiring players. Kipper, Tanguay, Bourque, Huselius, Langkow and Cammalleri all for picks and spare parts.

Maybe rebiggle means to take as long as humanely possible to trade your best asset?

It's like Christmas as a kid. It was going to come whether you thought about it or not and of course you had no idea about the amount of work that went on behind the scenes to create the Christmas magic, but that didn't stop you from being excited about it, dreaming about all the cool stuff Santa would bring, and hoping it would come sooner.
It's human nature to want a lil' treat now, rather than waiting.

Thankfully it doesn’t mean trade him for whatever you can as soon as you can.

I think a lot of the fan impatience comes from the information from MSM. Both Andersson and the Flames want this done before February 4th. That's not speculation from the fans.

Even though this trade is what people are calling a long process, I am honestly enjoying that it is taking time. Flames hockey on the ice has not been great, so having this dominate the conversation around the team has been a lot of fun. I love checking the CP insiders every day and listening to Pat on Flames Talk. Bring on the rumours……. I am loving all of it.

What’s the harm in fun speculation and hopes and guesses on a return that could change the fortunes of the team we’re all cheering for?
|
No harm in it, when it's FUN speculation about what could be. But when it turns into constantly ripping into other posters about that speculation, or ripping into the guys that seemingly have a peak into what may be happening, it's just tiresome, lol.
I don't post much because ultimately I don't really care that much. Regardless of what happens, I'll still watch and cheer for the Flames. And I think it's cool to have people on here who post "inside" info, even if that information/scenario doesn't come to fruition, because who cares...?!?!?
I'm sure there's many different scenarios behind the scenes with these possible trades that none of us are privy too that don't happen - doesn't mean the info being provided by Sec, Royale9, etc isn't factual, it's just that sometimes things happen or don't happen. Still cool to have a peak behind the curtain.

"Now" is not a priority. Upside or ceiling has to be the focus. The Flames need to acquire the young C that can play in the top two lines for years to come and ideally compliments having Reschny as our other future C.
"Now" is as simple as shifting Zary to C. Kadri, Frost, Backlund becomes Frost, Backlund, Zary.
- Giving Frost a bigger role will force him to sink or swim as he heads into his contract year next season.
- Giving Zary a chance at C again will allow us to see if he can do the job and hopefully this time he can stay healthy.
- Backlund can keep doing Backlund things.
People can argue the order but that would be the group in the event of a Kadri trade and the result will be what most of "team tank" wants.

They could try Sharangovich at C again, or Pospisil if he makes it back, as well. Really these aren’t just space fillers for Reschney and whoever else they can gather in.

It's why Poitras makes some good sense in acquiring. Buy low, 21 years old, RHS. He's player they can use now and throughout this new core build. He gets up to speed around the time Backlund hanging up his skates they're looking pretty good at center. Because then you're gonna have the possible arrivals of Potter and Reschny and potentially the 26 1st rounder they take if he's a center.

I don't have a lot of faith in Pospisil being able to stay healthy enough to continue a hockey career.

Both parties may WANT it done by then, but it doesn't mean it HAS to be done by then. Right now it's an imaginary deadline fans/people on here have put on it that's seemingly cause people on here to freak out about. Lol.
Personally I don't care how long it takes, so long as Conroy feels he got max value out of the deal. And who am I (or anyone else for that matter) to say otherwise once the deal is complete? We have no idea, and likely won't know, what any of the firm offers are.

And THEY bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh, this is a Nazi bar now. And its too late because they’re entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

Prepared to be underwhelmed by the return. It doesn't sound good to me. The best thing would be sign him and keep him long term if he has an appetite to stay. Oh well.
Andersson holds the cards and the other teams have us by the balls.

Me neither, but while he plays, he can try centre.
