Stay optimistic.

Andersson hasn't said no to the Bruins. Apparently the Bruins have been given permission to negotiate an extension (according to Steinberg).

Vegas probably feels that their offer only needs to be a little bit better than the no extension offers from the other teams. They probably feel like they can get him cheap and then extend him later. Because why wouldn’t they?

The whole problem behind Vegas being able to even have a horse in this race with a suboptimal offer is because the players want to go/will extend there.

Rasmus, Vegas sucks. God dang bud, there are so many more family oriented and great cities out there.

F that windswept hole of sin. Why would any one want to take a young family there anyways. Seems more geared towards young bachelors with $ to blow.

Vegas, outside the strip, is apparently a very strong, nice community and great place to live.

Plus, taxation.

Yeah, most (all?) of the players live in a pretty great neighborhood away from the strip, right near the practice arena. Great for families, great weather during the season, great golf. Plus the great arena and atmosphere of home games.

If that's the case, almost sounds like the Flames are ok with both offers and he's going to Boston but just need to sort out if extends or not?

Extension: Lohrei, Poitras, Leafs 1st

No extension: Poitras, other 1st?

Have you been to Vegas outside the strip? No taxes, competitive team, it checks a lot of boxes.

I hope the Flames are telling Ras that Vegas' offer has no chance of getting him. So its extend with someone else or be shipped somewhere as a rental.

If Vegas is his goal sure he’d be more than fine with that knowing he can sign there in the off season.

To me it feels like there is too much smoke around Boston.

The insiders around the Flames thought it was done Thursday night.

Last night a bunch of people that would have Boston knowledge (that podcast, Mike Grinnell) seemed to think it was done there.

And they still seem to be the front runners.

My guess remains to be that this is done but both teams were okay with taking the risk of playing Lohrei and Andersson today potentially to fulfill their wishes (last game for Andersson, family trip for Lohrei)

Just between the airport and the strip, so no. But whatever.

There has to be a handful of other teams that can offer a comparable lifestyle. Vegas has already made us the bridesmaid or their doormat in too many instances since their inauguration to the league. At this point I'd rather 127 hours this than cut them another deal on their terms.

Unless they actually pay a competitive price.

Conroy isn't going to take a lesser return from VGS than they can get from another team - why would he?
Like I said, Vegas could be specifically trying to keep their name in the conversation similar to how GMBT tries to be in on everything. That doesn't mean they suddenly have better / more assets to work with. It's essentially propaganda.

The only way Andersson is traded to VGS is if they have the most competitive offer.

They can try and keep their name in the mix, but unless they have the best offer, CC isn't sending Andersson there

Vegas probably just staying in the mix on the off chance no one ponies up a decent rental price. Otherwise they know they have Ras to themselves come July.

Maybe Andersson was happy with the deal , but the boss wasn’t a fan of Boston for the next 8 years vs going to LV and hanging with Hanifins wife !

Vegas is just waiting in case Boston gets frustrated and backs out. I worry Conroy is pushing a bit too hard on the bidding war

Unless he decides he loves the city he movies to, or they win a cup or something.

Doesn’t sound like a bidding war but that’s just me
