I'm not surprised that it's pro-Modi; that's the safe thing to do in India, for all the veneer of parliamentary democracy that they've laid on the surface of their political culture. It's not so very long ago that Indira Gandhi used to send in the army to arrest and depose any state government that opposed her Congress Party.
But a source can be biased about the things directly related to its own interest and unbiased about things it doesn't have any stake in. This concept is obviously completely alien to you.
The thing I find particularly valuable about The Times of India is that it reports on stories that the North American and European media completely ignore. But I don't expect you to find any value in that either.
Needless to say, I do not trust any news source without verification. The most a single source can do is alert me that there is a story there. I don't trust any of them to tell it honestly. For that, I either have to do some digging or dismiss it as not worth my time. I knew all about ‘Gell-Mann amnesia effect’ long before it had a name.

If it's the Leafs 1st, Lohrei, and Poitras I'm personally a big fan of the return.
Right now the Leafs 1st sits 16th OV, compare that to the Red Wings pick which sits 26th overall.
According to Perri Pick Value Calculator the 16th OV pick is worth 23.5 value, and the 26th is worth 13.8, that Delta of 9.7 is worth the 34th OV pick.
So it's like an extra high second round pick of value.
Lohrei is a guy that can probably play 2nd or 3rd pair on the LH side, provides some offense and has a very intriguing physical skillset. Hopefully Huska can help him stablize defensively like has happened with Bahl.
Poitras is a great buy low candidate. Teams just don't move young blue chip centers. 18 months ago this kid was untouchable and Boston fans were comparing him to Bergeron. Struggled a bit this season but his two previous seasons were great for his age in both the AHL and NHL.
If he was having a good season this year you're not getting him in this deal, trading him feels like Sweeney over reacting to a bad 40 game stretch for a kid who doesn't turn 22 until March.

This is a funny tweet
“ “Deep draft class” is a cop out, no one will know for a few years. Not to mention the bruins have TWO first round picks. And Rasmus Andersson played phenomenal hockey when he was alongside Zadorov in YYC.”
Am I mis remembering or were Rasmus and Zadorov not a really bad fit as a pair?

I thought Cullen Potter is our undersized Center prospect? What does Poitras have to, that Potter doesn’t? Legitimately asking , not up to date on Bruins prospects and I haven’t seen either guy listed on their top 10. This feels like the Iginla trade with a better 1st round pick

Lohrei and Poitras were pretty hyped players just a couple years ago, were they not?
Like almost "untouchable" pieces for the Bruins. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember seeing Bruins fans talk about them.

I'm glad Boston might not be seeing things clearly. I hope we can profit from it.

LOL. Their lack of credibility for North American reporting is pretty parallel to their lack of credibility in domestic reporting. Again, get better sources, my man. You've been duped as it seems you often are.
Quote:
Critics have noted that TOI sometimes uses sensationalist, high-emotional language in headlines for both domestic and international news to attract readers, which can color the neutrality of the reporting.
In terms of international reporting, TOI relies heavily on wire services and sometimes focuses on specific, sometimes, exaggerated narratives rather than in-depth, nuanced analysis of North American domestic issues.

But on to more important things, I'm so excited to wake up to Andersson trade details tomorrow, morning. I'm sufficiently excited, so please let this be true.

He has played 66 NHL games so I don't know if he is listed as a prospect anymore
we need more than 1 center prospect lol...they are also 3 years apart in age
Poitras played for Canada at the WJC, this isn't some bum we are talking about

The headline was clearly written either by an AI or by a staffer who does not English goodly. Not sure about the article.
I just find it amusing that a newspaper in India would be reporting on an NHL trade at all. To borrow a phrase from Samuel Johnson, it's like a dog walking on its hind legs: you don't expect to see it done well, but it's a bit of a surprise to see it at all.

If the rumored return is true then this and the Iggy return are not comparable at all.
I'd say chances are much greater that Potter ends up a winger if he makes the NHL.

Misremembering. They didn’t play together a ton but they were one of the best pairings when they did.

Boston Sports Sufferer on twitter who seemed to have broken the trade said it’s a long term extension around 7-8 mil a year.

Toronto trades whatever scraps they have left to push for the playoffs. They just miss, finishing 16th. With miraculous luck, the 16th overall wins the lottery, moving all the way to 6th overall. Flames draft 1st and 6th.

Poitras was 100% listed as untouchable even just 12 months ago, but 18 months ago for sure.
