We nudged our usage in the "sustainable" zone yesterday. But looking at the Glenmore reservoir levels they have been steadily increasing since midday on the 14th, most likely the effect of the Bearspaw main slowly coming back up to full capacity.

Is there a frame of reference for this? We have the graph that shows recent water usage during the break, but how does that compare to normal use when the system is operating properly?

Go here:

https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrI...czNGVhZjE5NiJ9

And click the button on the top right labeled "Since June 2024". It tracks daily all the time so you can see historical usage.

I've marked it up for you with digital crayon.

So we didn't do schit? and nothing happened, that's certainly not going to reinforce people to do doing nothing the next time an edict comes down. Simon says.

I would think the extremely warm temperatures we've had the last few days probably add some bonus snow melt water into the system as well.

I wouldn't say that. The two peaks on the left are 530ML, and 522 in between them. I think you can ignore the Christmas lead up drop, because Christmas only comes once a year(unless with Bond). Our highest after the break was 514, but we averaged closer to 500 or so. About a 5% reduction. Probably need longer term data if you really want an accurate picture, but ballpark 5%.

I appreciate your positivity, but seems like error bar asymptote stuff.

Like I said, you'd need to look at longer term data to see if that 5% holds water.

And did the 5% matter if it is real?

If that dashboard graph is accurate, the average water consumption from Dec 17 to 24 was well into what would later become the red zone, way higher than it's been in January so far. If you just draw a horizontal line across, the consumption on Dec 17 and 24 were the lowest days during that period and they'd be about on par with Jan 3 and 4 as the highest days of consumption since the break (and before everyone really seemed to get the message about conserving water).

People probably should have done a bit more to get things into the green but based on that data, there is a real change in consumption.

So no one was held accountable and fired at city hall over this debacle, and David Duckworth was put on a PIP?
