I’m A-OK with tank commander Huberdeau for the next year or 2, his contract will ensure we don’t overpay someone else and his play won’t improve the team.

No, but if I bought what I thought was a Ferrari and it turned out it was a Corolla with a Ferrari sticker on it, I wouldn’t keep expecting it to perform like a Ferrari.

I think I get what you’re saying, torch it for the insurance payout.

His salary makes him untradeable. And at some point when the prospects are ready for the NHL, he’s going to be a roadblock. It will be fascinating to see what the Flames do. Give him harder assignments? Tell him to stay home?

I disagree that he's going to be a roadblock. That will only be the case if Flames mismanage the cap badly during this "rebuild".

Huberdeau of last year was fun.
This year he's kicking his feet up back in economy while Backlund and Coleman attempt to pilot this thing. Pretty disappointing knowing what he is capable of.
I guess if he was giving his A game this year (and helping to elevate a second line and the PP), the tank might be put on ice. So while it's easy to hate... at least he's picked a lane. Hopefully the team does too.
Maybe he can scrounge around for that heart in time to mentor a Lawrence or McKenna along.

If I bought a Ferrari and it turned out to be a Corolla, I would be pissed the whole time I am owning it
Dont expect me to accept it

What about healthy scratching him for a few games?? Not like he's adding much when he's in the lineup..

Depends what happens at the draft but if they add McKenna or Stenberg, more LWs, and then you've got healthy Honzek and potentially Pospisil coming back, it become more imperative to do something about this LW logjam. They could trade/buy out any combo of Huberdeau/Sharangovich/Farabee and still be deep on the wing and not miss their contributions one bit

No, no...apparently he's awesome! All the Superfans say so!
Much like the money, the points dont matter apparently. Neither do the turnovers or the vacuous lack of heart.

Thats why the namebar on his jersey reads "Cap Floor Compliance"
Pretty much all he's good for. And turnovers. He's really good at those too.
I think he hit the post tonight so..."an attempt was made?"
