Sean Doyle died in Calgary last month at the age of 85. He was a local teacher and was moonlighting in the summer as a security guard at the downtown Hudson's Bay store in 1985. He nabbed serial killer Charles Ng for shop lifting and a life and death struggle played out when Ng pulled a gun.

Not a celebrity but Doyle was celebrated as a hero and certainly saved lives that day.

Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead passed at 78 (which seems way to young to be a founding member of a mid sixties rock band!!)

From his Wikipedia:
Quote:
On New Year's Eve 1963, 16-year-old Weir and an underage friend were wandering the back alleys of Palo Alto, looking for a club that would admit them, when they heard banjo music. They followed the music to its source, Dana Morgan's Music Store. They encountered a 21-year-old Jerry Garcia, oblivious to the date, waiting for his students to arrive. Weir and Garcia spent the night playing music together and then decided to form a band.

Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin of Black Midi has died.

He struggled with mental health and it's so sad every time it ends like this. His Mercury Prize performance is legendary.

Looks like Dilbert creator, Scott Adams has died. Used to enjoy the comics and books until he got racist and weird.

He pulled the Bart!

Too bad he chose to toxify his legacy by revealing himself to be a bit of a chud.

Does this mean my Dilbert comic book is now valuable instead of just being toilet paper?

It was interesting watching him get redpilled in real time during the pandemic

Anti-Vax to Pro-Trump to outright racist. It was magical.

There was definitely head trauma involved.

Cancer can also mess with all sorts of hormones, it's possible he was a victim of that unfortunate side effect, and no head trauma was involved.

I enjoyed Dilbert in the 90s though like most comics it got repetitive after a while. I remember being on a Dilbert internet group back then, even then there were signs that he was a bit strange - though nothing compared to how he went off the deep end in recent years.

It was probably around the 2000s where he made some comment that sounded like he was simping for corporations. It felt like the antithesis of Dilbert. It just rubbed me the wrong way and didn’t really enjoy the comics much any more after.

Whats the old saying? Better to stay silent and be thought an idiot than to speak and remove all doubt?

Dilbert did inspire The Drew Carey Show, so it's not a total wipe.
