Sometimes the funnest part is the internet awkwardness of it all. Like showing up at someone's door when the recipient isn't home and asking a woman if she has a husband, while holding a bottle of alcohol in your hand. Followed by a look of relief as you say "well this is for him, merry Christmas!"

Haha! That is definitely the best part! Showing up at edslunch's house with a gift bag...

"Its okay...he's a friend from the Internet!"

Thank fata my wife wasn't home. She would not get it.

I probabably will not do again next year. For some reason i over worry. Scorpion was so vague other than 'no flames stuff'. Thanks for that knowledge a-hole!

I reached out to scorp on his work contact in his sig. he also had a cool vehicle and my kid passed his drivers so we had to shuffle.

Go test drive it with him to glean (or is it gleem) some info. He doesnt offer up anything really. But man i loved that car.

Was going too beer with russic and locke so i told him to come. He didn't seem to drink so that ruled out booze gifts.

Ended up buying the vehicle. Fack!

You did get the other gift card right scorp?

Rookie mistake Fotze, Scorp scammed you into a car because he vagued his questionnaire.

Classic Scorp! You bagged another one!

It just screams "mostly harmless."

I should just point out...she left you for dead! I could have been an axe-murderer for all she knew!

Didn't even ask me my name or what I was doing there just 'come on in'...I was carrying a gift-bag so I guess it's cool...there could have been anything in there...

Pretty much happened to me when I went to my secret Santa’s place. At least I was carrying my gift in a really cool dollar store bag and was welcomed with laughter after I said “ is your husband on Calgary puck”.

I was awkwardly caught leaving the gift this year too…and even more awkwardly I had an appointment to get to, so could just wave instead of staying to say hi.

Lots of usage out of our secret Santa gifts to end our break. We used the zoo gift cards to go to zoo lights last night, which was awesome. It’s an annual tradition for our family, but this year we ended up being super busy in November and December, so it worked great going on New Year’s Day. Everyone had an awesome time.

And today we had a bit of a quiet day at home, so my daughter got to work on her Taylor Swift activity book and my son finished his Lego Star Wars set. The gun really fires the blaster thing, so most of his afternoon has been spent doing target practice against a fleet of troopers which has been pretty hilarious to watch. Thanks again secret Santa; the gifts were a hit!

No way if your wife had answered the door I was giving your CP handle...that might have gotten me a slap. Thankfully SG gives out our real names to avoid the awkwardness.

Do it again next year, nobody is going to evaluate you on your choices, it's more for fun. You also seemed to knock it out of the park this year and set a high bar!

She wouldn't know what that word means, most people do not.

Here's my better late than never update on the CP Secret Santa...

This was my first time taking part, and it was awesome. Used to feel stressed about Christmas when the kids were younger and didn't want to add anything more shopping/ thinking to my holiday plate, but now they are older and just want cash so things have suddenly become much easier.

My still secret Santa dropped my gift off the weekend before Christmas, I was under the weather buy my girlfriend answered the door as my CP Santa was running down the steps after dropping off an awesomely wrapped gift and left with just a wave and left in his sleigh (with a red Flames plate of course) I restrained myself from opening until Christmas Eve and wow, what a cool gift. 24x individually wrapped numbered beers with a letter stating that they are gathered on their work travels from all over Canada visiting their favorite breweries, as well as some details of some of some of the highlights. There was another note inside ID-ing all the beers in case I didn't' want to play dealers choice which I opened- Literally beers from Newfoundland to Victoria and everywhere in-between (and one from Croatia) and some Buffalo hot sauce in case I like beer and wings. I'll be chilling them a couple at a time so I can properly sample them all, and feel I hit the Santa Jackpot!

My Christmas eve drop-off to the famous Surferguy was equally awesome. Was served Egg Nog, met the family and got a tour of the shop and left with some amazing wooden handiwork crafted by the man himself! Filled me with proper holiday spirit for the next couple of days for sure.

All in all, would give the CP Secet Santa a 10/10 and will for sure take part in the years to come. Also going to make stopping by the Surferguy house an annual Christmas Eve tradition!
