They don't get a courtesy rejection, just a click.

I'm thankful he went quickly once his quality of life deteriorated and didn't suffer much. He was a man who loved video games, the Flames, dogs, his home and his family and he got to do all of that until the end.

I have the same thoughts though - did I do enough, spend enough time with him. I was only 21 when he passed and the thought of losing him made me scared of reality.

TBQH I probably have undiagnosed PTSD that I burried and ignored from his passing and going right into the 13 floods where our home got flooded out in Sunnyside losing majority of his belongings and all of our family photos, belongings and a sense of life.
It really sucks. He was the toughest man in the world. He broke his hip, walked around on it for over a month before they figured out the problem, then Cancer saw its window and took him. I’m still not the same, probably never will be.

They say a man never steps in the same river twice, fore he is not the same man and it is not the same river.

It's okay not to be the same.

You shouldn't be the same. Would mean he didn't matter.

So I get a phone call from my surgeons office. It was during a meeting. I immediately catastrophize it, so I didn't take the call. Did the last test come out bad. Crappy Echo? Phone them back, she says routine follow up but nothing else. But now I am freaking out.

So if you guys have some bullets you need storage in, my skull will gladly oblige.

Was doing okay this year then just got fired a couple weeks before Christmas. Life really isn't fair sometimes.

I’m in one of those highs that I am sure will go the other way as they do.

Kid played crosstown rival yesterday pre circle k. A team that didn’t want him in tryouts. They murdered them 7-0 and he had two goals. Total statement game. He’s on cloud nine.

We went to test drive with the scorpion a car I want but don’t need.

Met my new billets mom and she is ecstatic he’s with us. She’s insistent on what to pay. I think they paid lots previously.

Said he adds more value to the house than he takes and we don’t care. He needs to know he didn’t get ditched by the previous place.

I've found an odd amount of relief in agreeing with what you've said here. It doesn't need to be "guess I'll just enjoy it now before life inevitably curb-stomps me" but can be as simple as "this is nice."

I think it's real easy to slip into a way of thinking that when things are all coming up Milhouse, that's what life should be, and when we're getting stomped, that's what life shouldn't be. For me at least, that always created an incredible amount of tension as I spent all my time either gripping frantically to the good and pushing as hard as I could against the bad.

The trick is always having the same attitude about change when things suck. That one's a lot more difficult, but typically just as true.

I have a line, written by Shad. K, that I repeat in my head at least weekly.

“You never question where you get the blessing, so don’t get vexed when your life is stressed”.

Yeah, my mantras come from rap sometimes.

Blah blah blah, company hired a new CFO, who is going to work out of our office, which means moving offices around - who gets to move into the office with no window? Me.

One day in, and i hate this so much.

Desk in this office has no foot space for some reason, hating that too - but that can be solved by changing desks.

My wife had an ear infection and now we are in ICU. It went septic. Antibiotics are doing their job and she's improved but got the results of an echocardiogram she had this morning and the bacteria ate a hole in one of her heart valves. She doesn't know yet as she is still out from the procedure. Likely will have to undergo open heart surgery now.

Shes the toughest person I know. Has been through so much medically in her life. Can we make this the last thing for awhile please? Does she get to enjoy being a grandma?

Any heart surgeons in the thread?

I am a mess

I can’t give hope but one year ago today I was in ICU after having both my aorta and pulmonary valves chopped out. They put my pulmonary where aorta was and I got a cadaver valve in pulmonary place.

I was walking the next day. Out of the hospital in a week. Was on breathing machine for six hours.good luck bro. I didn’t know an ear infection could turn out like that. Heart surgeons are amazing and surprising the magic they can perform. My aorta wat 73 percent blocked with calcification.

When players you remember getting drafted are starting to retire...yeah. Its a little depressing.

What have I done with my life in the meantime?

0. I hate Christmas. It's depressing as hell since my grandparents passed, nobody gathers anymore. Both my sons are with their moms for the holiday. Just another ####ty day.
