Really strange that I can't quote pepsifree for some reason. But obviously I disagree with you strongly here.

You are putting words in my mouth saying people would "want them to go to hell". Im saying its not going to improve the relationship with fans is all if you troll them when three quarters if not more of the core are already hoping for them to get traded. And this is the kind of thing eric Francis lives for

It's completely out of touch to be arguing that people are so rational on social media that something like this would never result in blowback except from outliers. Have you spent any time on these platforms? It's a ####ing cesspool, people yelling at women to show their boobs in unrelated comment sections or turning posts about a donut or a turkey into low brow political discourse. And in that climate, you think that someone saying trolling would slightly damage their relationship with fans is total loser weirdo stuff... yeah

Back to the rumours and speculation.

Kadri (25% retained) + Coleman (50% retained) for Kapanen + Hage + Zharovsky + 2026 1st + Laine.

Way too much
Hage + 1st would be a great return for Kadri.
So then you are also getting Zharovsky and Kapanen for Coleman + Laine as the cap dump.

I just don't see a world where the Habs give up their 2 best prospects in a single deal.

Agreed. You might get one of those guys.

I think they can get some decent picks for Coleman

Kadri is a hard guy to deal. Too old and contract too long. He was a FA for a long time before Treliving signed him. Same reservation around the league at this time as well.

Only teams that think they can win now and willing to go all in would trade for him. He is not a piece you trade for to use long term

Also the Flames wouldn't be retaining on both Kadri and Coleman. Kadri's contract is too long, and then the Flames couldn't retain on Andersson. Cap dumps coming back to make the salary work are better than retaining on Kadri.

But I disagree that Kadri is hard to deal. He has proven that he is easily worth his contract, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

I personally don't think Kadri and Coleman are likely to be traded in one deal.

They're not really a typical pair, don't play on the same line. Despite these being the Flames' most likely trade candidates, you don't often see teams bulk shopping like this. They're kind of independent deals with completely different attributes.

He is a bit of a unicorn. His best seasons have come in his 30’s.

Think cp posters are reading way to much into some instagram pictures. My bet is one player posted pictures and the other player saw it and did the same.

Wtf? Posting pictures on instagram now means you're traded? You guys really have gone off the edge of normalcy.

And if it doesn’t but they secretly wanted to make us think it did then the players must be made to SUFFER.

Going to that extreme is absolutely weirdo stuff. but unfortunately its becoming more and more the norm especially for among certain demographics.

I dont think instagram comments saying you want a player traded is in the same ballpark though either or making some guy who makes 7 mil a year SUFFER. That's every second conversation with a hockey fan online and maybe sadly, a part of their profession. When you have a keyed up fanbase hoping for a trade, older players pretending they got moved would definatelty get a few people a bit riled and would be kinda dumb if they are simply frustrated at the chatter because you are just giving it more oxygen

Anyway lost in all of this is my original point that I dont think they are trolling, these guys get way too much media coaching to be that clumsy. Like I said i bet the team photographer sent them a photo dump on an off day.

I'm usually highly entertained by reading the continual flow of incredibly bizarre thoughts that come out of people's heads these days but occasionally it adds up to an urge to enter the nuclear codes.

Power and Helenius is probably too much for Coleman and Kadri. Helenius is producing like Gridin right now, as a RHS C.

Power + Quinn though...

Players never screw with the media/fans

- signed Dennis Wideman taking a phone call during practice on trade deadline day

Didnt Johnny do that too one year as well? Or one of the flames did running off the ice during the leadup to the deadline.

Any chance the Flames had a Christmas get together last night and collectively the players decided this would be a good troll? Surprised Anderson didn’t get in on the fun.

That's not how I remember the Kadri situation. He was waiting for Colorado to try and make room. He also wanted to go to a good team, most of which were pretty close to the cap. The cap was so tight that the Flames traded a 1st for MTL to eat Monahan's contract!

As far as him being signed for too long, he has proven that he isn't slowing down. He's on pace for 71 points this season. He had 67 points last year and 75 the year before. Those numbers are pretty remarkable when you consider how much the Flames are actually scoring.

The raising cap, and depleted free agent market has made Kadri into a value contract and a prized commodity. As a comparable Colorado gave 34 year old, 55-60 point center, Brock Nelson a $7.5M x 3 years.
