Or he's a shoe in and they want to give others a look as well.

Fret not, Reschny will be centering future Flame McKenna's line by the end of the tournament.

Boys should get in Tij's ear while they're at it. F### Utah.

Also thought he was a center. They have him slotted in on the wing.

They had him on PP1 though. So that’s a positive.

Will be fun to watch him and Parekh in the tournament. To see how they stack up against their peers.

I think 90% of the forwards are Centers on their Jr. teams or something close to that.

Wouldn't put too much stock into a first lineup. If he is on PP1 he wont be a bubble fwd.

The team Canada roster is stacked. Can't even be mad if Reschny does end up being a bubble guy.

You would be astonished at what some people can choose to be mad about.

Yeah. I’m taking him on PP1 as a sign he has a good chance to make the team. Powerplays are more important in this tournament than pretty much any other tournament/league in hockey. They will prioritize getting that fine tuned. Him practicing on the “5th line” I think could be to get decent looks at other guys who are more on the bubble. Not sure who falls into that category right now.

To me Cootes looks out of place on the 2nd line, and Greentree seems like an odd fit for a shutdown role next to Desnoyers and O'rielly. I find those two appear to be getting the auditions up front but who really knows with HC.

Cootes really struggled early on.
I don't see how he can be slotted so high if at all.

Unless he's on PP1 as a placeholder for Misa.

And yeah, Cootes, Martin, Hage, and O'Reilly are all centers too. I wouldn't read too much into Reschny--or anyone, really--playing wing on team canada lol.

I'd assume that given ...

his 2nd half
playoff run
summer camp
start to college career

that they see Reschny as a guy that will just improve through the tournament and will therefore make the team.

Yeah folks are speculating he’s a placeholder for Misa on the PP1. Hope he impresses in those pre tourney games.

Mad is not the right word for it, but it's not at all out of reach for fans to want to watch their team's players -- and to be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I absolutely agree, and feel the same way.

It was just a glib response to the turn of phrase "Can't be mad..." redirected towards the mood of discussion in general on the board these days.

I love when this tournament is in Europe! Waking up early every day during Christmas break to watch the games, then being exhausted when school started in the New Year because you haven't slept for two weeks. Good times
