Yes... would love that trade.... unfortunately I don't think Boston is trading away that pick, looking like a steal for Boston

I’m sure if Boston moves a 1st it’ll just be something like “conditional 1st, lower of the 2 after the playoffs”

Add the ‘27 2nd round picks, or perhaps use that to replace the 26 3rd. (Should get both, really)

It’s a package worth considering, but it’s also one I would sit on. I think there’s a good chance someone beats that.

Whether it is Coleman, Kadri or Andersson, getting a third first round pick this year should be the goal, I think.

That said, I’d take a ‘27 first this year as well. Still want that ‘26 first though.

Part of the problem in the way that I see it is regardless if it's a 2026 or 2027, its going to be in 25-32 area, CC needs to be a little creative here, trade assets that maybe he would not want to before, and get two picks in the top 10, we need quality over quantity

I think that would be exceedingly difficult for the Flames to do. Teams who have top 10 picks aren’t, in most instances, looking to trade those picks. You would likely need an impact player under the age of 25 and the Flamrs don’t have that aside from Wolf and Coronato. Parekh too I suppose and maybe Gridin.

Then the question becomes, why would the Flames make that trade? Wouldn’t they want to keep the player they already drafted are developing and planning around? Makes no sense.

Forget it, Conroy is trying to make the playoffs

Delusional but it is what it is

Kadri would look pretty good in Minnesota now that they're down a C after the Hughes trade.

If you’re going to make such an outrageous statement, you’re going to have to back it up with some evidence and a logical argument. What youth and future assets has Conroy shipped out to acquire veterans to try to push the team into a wildcard spot? What UFAs has he signed to rich, too-long retirement contracts just to squeeze a season or two of positive value out of them? How close is the team to the salary cap? Where are the skilled young scorers like Gridin he has called up to replace players who couldn’t score if they had the puck in the crease in front of an empty net? Yes, as you say, Conroy is clearly doing everything he can to make the playoffs this season.

Good point, with Hughes, the Wild are instant contenders, but they could use a solid, experienced, competitive, offensively skilled 2C, shifting Eriksson Ek to a more Backlund-like shutdown role.

But Minny just gave up their best stuff for Hughes.

Minny still has some good prospects they could give up in a trade:

C Charlie Stramel, RW Ryder Ritchie, C Riley Heidt, D Theodor Hallquisth, D Aron Kiviharju, D Carson Lambos, D Sebastian Soini, D David Jiricek, and C Adam Benak.

Personally, I would LOVE to get Stramel, Heidt, or Ritchie.

Not exactly an abundance of riches as other teams, but a few to note:

Heidt (C)- 8 points in 25 AHL games in rookie season

Ritchie (RW) (Calgary-born), 11 points in 18 games in rookie year at Boston U

Kiviharju (LD) - 7 points in 23 games in the SM-liiga

Lorenz (LW) (Also Calgary-born), 15 points in 19 games, however, 4th season in college. More of a throw in.

EDIT: Sandman beat me to it

Ritchie would definitely be a decent target. I still like Heidt too.

And the great central arms race begins.

This is going to work on our favour very much I think.

Kadri will be in Colorado by the trade deadline.

My superficial and homerific take: it seems like none of those players crack the Flames' top en prospects list.

What about Yurov?
Kadri, Ek, Hartman is decent depth. We could even through in Kirkland for their 4th line depth.

Kadri, Kirkland/Beecher
for Yurov, Benak/Stramel/Ritchie and two 2nds??

Supplying multiple sides of a war is a hell of a good business decision.

Kadri to Colorado.
Coleman to Dallas.
Andersson to Detroit (I know, different division, but still the same war ultimately).

3 additional first round picks (some in ‘27), additional picks and prospects on-top of ‘em.

Conroy will have what he needs to then build a contender.
