Did the Flames have heavy interest in Milton Gastrin this past draft or was it just the fans wanting him because he's a C?
With word that the Capitals were in on Hughes as well, I wonder if they approach the Flames for Ras and we end up with Gastrin as part of the return.

Gio was a bicep injury (on a weird last minute play). Remember he came out in one more game in the warmup skate as a troll job?

Yes. Strange that both (if Bédard is bicep) happened right at the end of the game.
The way Bédard went off, definitely seemed like he knew his shot at the Olympic team is done.

Tampa has almost nothing to trade. If they wanted one of the Flames 3 pieces the 2028 1st is definitely involved, if it was Ras or Kadri they would have to throw in their 2026 and 2027 2nds to probably have a competitive offer. They have almost no prospects.

Well, we may have lost Bédard, but we still have Célĩbrïní, Crösby, Mækär, MåcKînnøn, so I like our chánces for team Cǎnǎdą.

Why believe its different until theres actual evidence that it is? They did exactly this last year and told us they were doing it.

I believe the Caps are now fully focused on Ras, when Quinn hit the market they had to try. Lots of rumors of the capital's offer out there, so should shed some light on who maybe available from the caps. As previously mentioned they followed the flames when EAST heavily.
Kadri's camp and flames camp have had recent conversations, for me to hear this is a positive sign we may see some movement. Last updated I heard ZERO.
More to come, the league is very alive right now. That Olympic break has "expedited the process for a lot of clubs" from one source.

Caps have a deep prospect base with lots of intriguing names
Their offer reportedly includes Hutson, McMichael and firsts
I assume Hutson would be off the table for Rasmus
I assume McMichael would be on the table
I would have interest in guys like Miroshnichenko, Parascek, Chesley. I assume the Caps would gladly offer Lapierre but not too keen on him

Great, so the Flames are re-signing Andersson to an 8-year deal, ZERO talk around Kadri, and not even a mention of Coleman so the Flames are obviously walking him to UFA next year.
This is a nightmare, travesty, worst timeline, disaster for the franchise etc etc.

I mentioned it before but this Quinn trade is a great example of how people should relax about rumours and media reports.
A week or so ago he wasn’t available and wasn’t a priority for Vancouver to move. Now he’s traded in a move they’ve been working on for weeks and started chatting about months ago.

If the Flames could snatch McMicheal from the Caps for Razz, I'd be pretty happy.
Outside of that, Gastrin, Proteas and Cam Allen would be players I'd look at.

Connor Geekie is a guy who I want, big 6’4 centre with history of production. Hes just 21 was an 11th overall pick and still has time to develop, like his brother who took awhile but now looks like a player.Geekie and a 1st plusa 2nd would be a good return for Rasmus.
