After Hockey, probably NFL first because I have a definite favorite team. Than MLB although I no longer really have one team to follow. I watch Baseball almost every night though in the summer at some point in time because....well it's on. In particular I like it when SportsNet picks up a Dodgers game. I really enjoy watching a Dodger game and listening to old Vin Scully do the PBP.

1. NHL

Tennis and soccer are alright also, but I have to be in the mood to watch it.

Everything else I really don't follow a whole lot.

Well I'm a sportsaholic so I follow everything I can, time allowing.....

1.NHL
2.NFL
3.MLB
4.EPL
5.CFL
6.CBB
7.CFB
8.PGA
9.NBA

The NBA has really fallen for me, still love basketball, I grew up a huge Isaiah Thomas and Pistons fan, but that league can be pretty unwatchable the majority of the time. Give me a big ten Hoosiers game anyday over what the NBA can offer.

I think my sporting favorites are heavily guided by fantasy sports....the only reason i even got into the NFL was due to fantasy sports, and now I'm a HUGE fan.

I haven't watched a MLB or NBA game in probably 12 years.

I do watch a lot of college basketball (well, what I would consider a lot..there are people who watch much more than I do!).

I watch every Broncos game and follow the league religiously.

I watch basically all the big north american sports (mlb, nfl, nba, ncaa basketball) the same amount, probablly a little more NFl just because of the fantasy aspect, betting and convience of it being on every sunday. Although I'm a little turned off by pro-sports with everything thats taken place these last few weeks all over the sporting world.

Umm, that was sarcasm, right?

After the NHL, it is

WHL
NLL
MLB
CFL

Could care less about the NFL and the NBA.

I follow all six of these leagues very closely with the NFL definitely being the lowest on the chain.

I'll all for the PAC 10 becoming the PAC 12 and picking off a couple of them.

I'm still a BCS conference guy, even though some of those WAC games can be shootouts.

that's funny, my uncle still calls it the pac-8 conference from his days in the 70's.

This is really interesting... So what is it about basketball that turns people off, I wonder?

Also surprising to me is how high baseball rates on people's lists so far...
Other than the fact that they usually play in the same buildings, basketball and hockey don't have much in common.

In theory, basketball should be a lot of constant action and continued pressure like hockey, but, as others have said, that doesn't actually happen late in the game (when it should be its most exciting) because of the intentional fouls and constant time outs.

As a hockey fan, I also think one of the marks against basketball and one of the marks in favour of baseball is the overlap of the seasons with hockey. Hockey and baseball have opposite seasons from one another, each of them is starting its regular season when the other is starting its playoffs. Basketball and hockey run essentially simultaneously. If you have a limited attention span, it's harder to follow both sports than it is baseball and hockey.

When I come home at night during the summer, I can be confident that I can turn on the tv and find a baseball game to watch. In the winter, even without Center Ice, I can be relatively confident that I can find a hockey game on one of the channels (even if it is an Oiler game on Sportsnet). If I come home and flip on TSN and they're showing a random NHL game, and Sportsnet is showing a random NBA game, I'll choose the NHL game 10 times out of 10.

As for my list...

NHL is tops, by far.

CFL is next, by far.

Next, is a newcomer to my list...AFL. Not arena football, Aussie Rules football. I just discovered a couple of weeks ago that Sportsnet shows AFL games at about 2am Saturday nights. That sport is crazy violent, and actually pretty easy to follow once you understand its limited rules. Unfortunately, they don't make the refs wear white sport jackets and fedoras like they used to.

Next down would probably be baseball, although I don't really follow any teams strongly. If the Jays, Mariners, or Mets ever make it the playoffs, I usually pay a little extra attention to them.

Next would come the NFL. I usually watch parts of a few Sunday and Monday Night games every year, and the Super Bowl (mostly for the commercials, but I'll slow down to watch any exciting plays too).

Below that is the NBA and everything else.

Surprised to see Baseball doing so well, as it is the least Canadian sport, so to speak. Plus, it's boring as feck, and the Phillies haven't made the playoffs in forever.

I enjoy the NFL quite a bit. It's very gambling friendly, with 14 or so games all on Sunday, with a week of previews and build-up. Also because the Eagles do quite well.

I used to be a big detractor of the NBA -- the whole game is too egocentric. ..Until the Phoenix Suns of today came along. Their offense is just a delight to watch. Not a single selfish player on their team. It's a pleasant change from the "look-at-me" attitudes of Kobe, Shaq, Lebron, et al. Phoenix just plays basketball -- their offense, at least -- the right way.

The more I think about it the tougher it is for me to order my favourites.

1. NHL. I'm on CP religiously which keeps me up-to-date and interested in the league 24/7.

2. CFL. Am a season ticket holder and absolutely love watching games in McMahon. The joke officiating/general bush leagueness of the league makes it tough to follow sometimes but IMO it's the best deal in town.

3. MLB/NBA. In both cases I'm more of a fan of the teams then the league. I follow the Jays/Raptors daily during their respective seasons but won't often watch a game that doesn't involve those teams (unless it's a good playoff matchup)

4.NFL. I love the NFL but I am a relatively new fan to the league. I've watched games for years but it has only been the last few where I have started following the league year round. Having picked finally picked a team to support definitely helped.

5. MMA. I've become completely hooked on UFC the last few months as I started watching the Ultimate Fighter reality show and then began downloading PPV torrents. I would not be surprised if MMA is at the top of my list by the end of the year.

6.College Hoops/Football. Don't follow either during their regular season but I'm a proud, unashamed bangwagoner during March Madness/Bowl Season.

7.EPL/Rugby. Don't watch alot but I caught alot of games while in SE Asia during the early part of the year and gained a much greater appreciation for the sport. Having played Rugby in the past its a treat to catch a game when Sportsnet shows the odd Canada game.

Baseball always peaks my interest come the playoffs and World Series. Not much of a fan when it comes to the regular season.

NFL football is much the same for me. Watch the odd regular season game with the playoffs and the Superbowl gaining more of my interest.

As for the CFL I focus on Stamps games juring the regular season and all teams during the playoffs and Grey Cup.

Golf and hockey are the only sports that I watch on a consistant basis.
