Flames move toward murky middle with win over Sabres

Three points.

That’s what separates the Calgary Flames from a playoff spot.

Yes, you read that right.

'He brings a lot of value': Flames getting the best out of Farabee after slow start

Joel Farabee described the first 31 games of his tenure with the Calgary Flames as “embarrassing.”

Calgary Flames defenceman Kuznetsov pokes fun at himself after big goal

The most unexpected offensive contributor on the night was Yan Kuznetsov. The 23-year-old has impressed since being called up by the Flames in early November, but more so for his work on the defensive side.

In this one, he was not only able to score the game-winning goal, but also chipped in with an assist on an empty-net tally from Yegor Sharangovich.

Flames lineup news: ‘Pretty good chance’ Hunter Brzustewicz plays on Wednesday against Detroit

One of the Calgary Flames’ most promising young prospects could be making his 2025-26 season debut in the final game of their homestand.
On Monday, the Flames summoned blueliner Hunter Brzustewicz from the American Hockey League’s Calgary Wranglers, at least in part due to an injury suffered by blueliner Jake Bean. Adding Brzustewicz gave the Flames seven healthy defenders in case someone caught the flu or were hurt in warm-up.

The Flames will not bottom out unless they trade veteran players

The Calgary Flames are back to being the team that they were for most of last season. Between Nov. 1 and Dec. 8, the Flames were 10-7-2 which puts them 11th in the NHL in points and 16th in points percentage. An impressive run for a team that lacks the high end talent to be a true contender.

Of the two teams, the Flames have the better shade of red, and in the end, that's all that matters.

Oh so lovely to see Flames fans actively cheering for losses in a GDT….yet again.

Sigh. Players aren’t playing to lose.

GFG! Let the chips fall where they may.

It's actually kind of fun cheering for other teams to win now. I've become the biggest Predators / Sabres / Blues / Canucks fan over the past month.

Flames can't help themselves but to go on meaningless hot streaks, so they need some help from other teams to make sure they stay bottom 5. Last nights out of town scoreboard really helped.

With the way this team has been playing, no team can count on an easy win now. I expect the Flames to come out jumping again. They are just as dialed-in as they were last season it seems. It really is a shame that this team simply lacks a #1 line. They would be absolute monsters if they just had that next-tier talent.

Because other teams 'can't help themselves but to go on meaningless hot streaks' too. Why do fans think it is only Flames players that are trying to win? And that it is somehow an organizational fault?

Is Rudy doing colour tonight?

I can't wait for the Flames to take the lead and then him giving the Wings advice on how to play, so they can come back and beat us!! lol

Hopefully Brustewicz can impress

I was talking to some buddies last night and said the same thing. Outside of a handful of teams anyone can beat anyone this year.

If the flames had one or two consistent goal scorers. Or players like Zary and Sharongovich could get going they would be a completely different team.
