For sure. But the following 2 years were something to watch also. Since then the whole tourney has fallen off. Games against also rans is time to pad your stats so the talking heads can talk about how great the teenagers are, then tough games against 3 teams and pick the winner from them. New players but same every year.

A lot of the scouting reports describe him as a very similar player to Hunter, but faster and with slightly better skating ability. Potential future second pairing puck moving dman.

Sounds like the Flames have the worse brother on paper, but only time will tell. It could be a Matthew vs. Brady type situation where everyone wins

We've gotten the better brothers lately. Matthew Tkachuk, Chris Tanev. We also had the better Mullen, Kiprusoff, Loob, Langkow, Holt, and even Fata.

Definitely got the worse Neidermayer, Bure, Granlund, Stone, Reinhart and Primeau.

I'm just sayin'...you gotta watch out for the Brothers...because our track record with brothers is not stellar...

You keep Stone's name out yo mouf!!!

I liked Stone...Clappers from the blueline! Although, objectively, significantly less talented than his brother so there is that.

I am not sure who will be the better pro but Hunter was the much better OHL player imo.

We just...as an organization have a long and cherished tradition of getting the less talented brother...we should avoid drafting anyone who also has a brother. Like #1 on the list.

"Do you happen to have a brother that also plays hockey? Can you assure us that you are better than him?"

By all accounts he's doing rather well in Europe. Not a bad way to go.

It's probably an age thing; he's still 18, still eligible for the team next year at 19. Some of the guys they picked don't have impressive numbers in College this year too though.

I don't think even the Flames' scouts expected Wyttenbach to play as well as he has thus far. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Potter is a strange snub, though, given who was picked. Just gotta use that as further motivation to prove Team USA wrong.

After listening to Dallas' fans shouting "U S A", the whole 51st state thing, and the overall climate that we are faced with, that's the silver lining here. Just makes cheering against the USA that much more fun. Cheering for Canada, and then anyone but the USA for me.

That's been similar to my thinking on the subject. It's sort of like the Tkachuk brothers. The younger brother has better physical tools, but the older brother is the better hockey player.

Bobby was much better than Billy MacMillan.
Joey was much better than Brian Mullen
Matthew is better than Brady Tkachuk.

I heard Wyttenbach's been producing decent points in his NCAA stint. Flames Digest on youtube got him ranked #5 for top Flames Prospects. Wonder why he's been left out.
